思想政治教育在人才培养中的作用主要表现在四个方面：即帮助受教育者选择成才目标;培养受教育者的思想政治素质;对受教育者进行思想能力的训练;锻炼受教育者的意志。     

Pathway Analysis for Population-Total Health Impacts of Toxic Metal Emissions

This article describes a simple model for quantifying the health impacts of toxic metal emissions. In contrast to most traditional models it calculates the expectation value of the total damage (summed over the total population and over all time) for typical emission sites, rather than "worst-case" estimates for specific sites or episodes. Such a model is needed for the evaluation of many environmental policy measures, e.g., the optimal level of pollution taxes or emission limits. Based on the methodology that has been developed by USEPA for the assessment of multimedia pathways, the equations and parameters are assembled for the assessment of As, Cd, Cr, Hg, Ni, and Pb, and some typical results are presented (the dose from seafood is not included and for Hg the results are extremely uncertain); the model is freely available on the web. The structure of the model is very simple because, as we show, if the parameters can be approximated by time-independent constants (the case for the USEPA methodology), the total impacts can be calculated with steady-state models even though the environment is never in steady state. The collective ingestion dose is found to be roughly 2 orders of magnitude larger than the collective dose via inhalation. The uncertainties are large, easily an order of magnitude, the main uncertainties arising from the parameter values of the model, in particular the transfer factors. Using linearized dose-response functions, estimates are provided for cancers due to As, Cd, Cr, and Ni as well as IQ loss due to Pb emissions in Europe.     

Bounds for moments through a general orthogonal expansion in a pre-hilbert space-II

In an earlier article [Canad. J. Statist., Vol, 3, No. 1, 1975, 13–34] bounds are obtained for the product moments of an arbitrary finite number of ordered random variables. These bounds are obtained with the help of a representation of an arbitrary function in terms of a complete orthonormal system in a pre-Hilbert space of square integrable functions defined in a k-dimensional unit cube. These results are extended to symmetric cases in this article.

Maximally even sets and configurations: common threads in mathematics,physics, and music

Convex (concave) interaction weighting functions are combined with circular configurations of black and white sites to determine configurations that have minimum (maximum) weight. These configurations are called maximally even configurations. It is shown that for a given number of black and white sites, all maximally even configurations are equivalent under rotation and reflection, and a simple algorithm is constructed that generates these configurations. A number of equivalent conditions that determine a maximally even configuration are established. These equivalent conditions permit maximally even configurations to apply to a number of seemingly disparate problems including the dinner table and concentric circles problems, the one-dimensional antiferromagnetic Ising model, and musical scales. This paper is dedicated to the memory of John Clough (1928–2003). Without his seminal works in music theory and patient encouragement of others, this work and much of the work referenced herein would never have been started, much less completed. The field of mathematical music theory owes a great debt to John Clough. The authors are privileged to have known and worked with John Clough.     

论重点大学文科的社会功能与历史使命──改革开放以来南京大学文科部分有重大影响的科研成果回顾

改革开放以来南京大学文科取得了以“实践标准”为代表的一系列有重大影响的科研成果。它们的产生既离不开社会的大环境,也得益于南大自身的小环境。它们的出现,昭示出重点大学文科的社会功能和历史使命就在于是社会的“思想库”和“学术基地”。为了完成这一社会功能和历史使命,必须坚决贯彻“双百方针”,倡导实事求是的科学态度,反对“政治实用主义”和“经济实用主义”,并充分尊重文科发展的特殊规律。     

序列相关的流水车间成组调度仿真

针对经典调度中未考虑生产准备时间或将准备时间放入加工时间考虑的问题,结合生产实际,将生产准备时间 独立出来,关注准备时间与加工顺序相关的情况;考虑到工件加工过程的不确定性,以三角函数表示工件的加工时间。 在建立了序列相关的流水车间成组调度的模型的基础上,在Simio仿真环境中建立具体模型,按工件组加工时间的不同 设定6种调度方案,运行100次。实验结果表明Simio仿真软件可以很好的模拟序列相关的流水车间成组调度情况,并 发现生产准备时间总和越小则工件的完工时间越小,此结论推广至大规模调度问题时可在短时间内获得调度的最优解。

口头禅是一种普遍传播于社会行业之间的另类流行语,并形成各种类型的口头禅模因体。从模因主体期待发挥的语用功能角度出发,解读在言语交际中口头禅的模因触发认知机制,探讨口头禅在主观意向与社会价值取向方面的模因语用传播,有助于提高人们的语言表达效果,培养高素质的公共讲演能力。重新审视口头禅的语言模因现象,以期引起学界的关注。
