This article considers statistical analysis of dependent competing risks model from Weibull distribution in accelerated life testing, in which copula function is used to examine the dependence structure between competing failure modes. We derive the maximum likelihood estimates, the approximate, and Bootstrap confidence intervals of the parameters. The effects of different dependence structures on the estimates of parameters are investigated. The simulation is given to compare the performance of the estimates when the competing failure modes are dependent with those when the failure modes are independent. Finally, one dataset was used for illustrative purpose in conclusion.  相似文献

Frailty models are used in the survival analysis to account for the unobserved heterogeneity in individual risks to disease and death. To analyze the bivariate data on related survival times (e.g., matched pairs experiments, twin or family data) the shared frailty models were suggested. Shared frailty models are used despite their limitations. To overcome their disadvantages correlated frailty models may be used. In this article, we introduce the gamma correlated frailty models with two different baseline distributions namely, the generalized log logistic, and the generalized Weibull. We introduce the Bayesian estimation procedure using Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) technique to estimate the parameters involved in these models. We present a simulation study to compare the true values of the parameters with the estimated values. Also we apply these models to a real life bivariate survival dataset related to the kidney infection data and a better model is suggested for the data.  相似文献

In this article, a maximum likelihood estimator is derived in the generalized linear model-based regression profiles under monotonic change in Phase II. The performance of the proposed estimator is comprehensively investigated through some special cases, and compared with estimators under step change and drift. The results show that the proposed estimator has better performance in small and medium shifts under different increasing changes. Finally, the applicability of the proposed estimator is illustrated using a real case.  相似文献

In this study, some methods suggested for binary repeated measures, namely, Weighted Least Squares (WLS), Generalized Estimating Equations (GEE), and Generalized Linear Mixed Models (GLMM) are compared with respect to power, type 1 error, and properties of estimates. The results indicate that with adequate sample size, no missing data, the only covariate being time effect, and a relatively limited number of time points, the WLS method performs well. The GEE approach performs well only for large sample sizes. The GLMM method is satisfactory with respect to type I error, but its estimates have poorer properties than the other methods.  相似文献

Although estimating the five parameters of an unknown Generalized Normal Laplace (GNL) density by minimizing the distance between the empirical and true characteristic functions seems appealing, the approach cannot be advocated in practice. This conclusion is based on extensive numerical simulations in which a fast minimization procedure delivers deceiving estimators with values that are quite far away from the truth. These findings can be predicted by the very large values obtained for the true asymptotic variances of the estimators of the five parameters of the true GNL density.  相似文献

Here, we consider a generalized form of the alternative zero-inflated logarithmic series distribution of Kumar and Riyaz (J. Statist. Comp. Simul., 2015) and study some of its important aspects. The parameters of the distribution are estimated by the method of maximum likelihood and some test procedures are developed for testing the significance of the additional parameter of the model. All these estimation and testing procedures are illustrated with the help of certain real life datasets. New generalized correlation measures of 2012, GMC(Y|X), use Kernel regressions to overcome the linearity of Pearson's correlation coefficients. A new matrix of generalized correlation coefficients is such that when |r*ij| > |r*ji|, it is more likely that the column variable Xj is what Granger called the “instantaneous cause” or what we call “kernel cause” of the row variable Xi. New partial correlations ameliorate confounding. Various examples and simulations support robustness of new causality. We include bootstrap inference, robustness checks based on the dependence between regressor and error, and on the out-of-sample forecasts. Data for 198 countries on nine development variables support growth policy over redistribution and Deaton's criticism of foreign aid. Potential applications include Big Data, since our R code is available in the online supplementary material.  相似文献

In this article, L-moments, LQ-moments and TL-moments of the generalized Pareto and generalized extreme-value distributions are derived up to the fourth order. The first three L-, LQ- and TL-moments are used to obtain estimators of their parameters. Performing a simulation study, high-quantile estimates based on L-, LQ-, and TL-moments are compared to the maximum likelihood estimate with respect to their sample mean squared error. This consists of identifying an optimal combination of parameters α and p both considered in the range [0, 0.5] for estimating quantiles by LQ-moments. The results show L-moment and maximum likelihood methods outperform other methods.  相似文献

In the problem of testing for the mean vector of a multivariate distribution, the asymptotic validity of the bootstrap methods is proved. They indicate that for small-sample size, the bootstrap tests provide a better finite sample properties than the asymptotic tests considered by Duchesne and Francq (2015 Duchesne, P., Francq, C. In this article, the statistical inference for the Gompertz distribution based on Type-II progressively hybrid censored data is discussed. The estimation of the parameters for Gompertz distribution is obtained using maximum likelihood method (MLE) and Bayesian method under three different loss functions. We also proved the existence and uniqueness of the MLE. The one-sample Bayesian prediction intervals are obtained. The work is done for different values of the parameters. We apply the Monto Carlo simulation to compare the proposed methods, also an example is discussed to construct the Prediction intervals.  相似文献
