社会科学如何得以开放——读华勒斯坦等的《开放社会科学》

开放的社会科学,何以可能?究竟应该如何建构?这是诸多社会思想家试图努力作出回应的试题。伊曼纽尔.华勒斯坦等人在所著《开放社会科学》中,循着历史的踪迹对社会科学进行反思,提出了基于一种多元普遍主义统一性上的建设性批判,追问并试图澄清建构开放社会科学所需的基本预设和具体路径。本文认为经过知识领域的对立到合作,认识论领域的分化到弥合,社会科学具有了趋于开放的基本背景前提。并试图解析华勒斯坦否思社会科学的方法论框架——世界体系论,探讨书中所隐含的知识与权力的关系等,探究社会科学得以组织化和制度化的本来面目。     

河北省推进行政权力公开透明运行的思考

河北省在2005年初,开始推行行政权力公开透明运行工作。该项工作的开展有效地提高了政府机关工作效率和工作质量,也在一定程度上遏制了腐败现象的发生。但其作为深化政务公开的积极探索,还有许多有待完善充实的地方,在今后的工作中要重点加以改进。     

村民自治背景下农村居民对村务公开的评价研究——对湖北省武汉市江夏区5个村居民的调查

本研究通过实地调查,从村民对村务公开基本程序的合法性、形式的有效性、内容的真实性、结果的满意度等四方面的评价状况来考察和反映该制度存在的现实问题与不足,并有针对性地提出可操作化的改进方案。     

Children's Influence on Internet Access at Home: Adoption and use in the family context

In this study, an integrated quantitative and qualitative research design was employed. From over 900 telephone interviews a typology of family types based on possession of media appliances was constructed, then divided into 'traditional' (low media density), 'intermediate' (average media density) and 'multimedia' (high media density) families. This typology was then used as a basis for selecting thirty-eight families for in-depth interviews. Of these, thirty-one contained children and it is these that form the basis for this article. The results of the family interviews indicate that children are a very important factor in the acquisition and use of the Internet. It was apparent from our interviews that Internet access and use become major issues in family discussions and conflicts - both between parents and children and between siblings.

本文是对 2 0 0 3年 1 1月宁夏回族自治区公选干部结构化面试状况的问卷调查报告 ,我们主要从参选者的基本情况、应试动机、应试行为以及参加面试者对面试环境和面试效果的评价来了解此次面试的总体情况。通过对问卷数据的转化处理和分析 ,归纳出本次公选面试的成功之处 ,同时也发现了其中的一些不足 ,并有针对性地提出了改进建议。     

利用Delphi开发实验室数据管理系统

从Delphi程序设计及MIS系统的发展,以实验室数据管理系统为例子,在数据存取基础上,阐述了Delphi的作用与优点及其在MIS中的应用及开发过程。

The Prehistory of MOOCs: Inclusive and Exclusive Access in the Cyclical Evolution of Higher Education

Abstract

In providing free access to educational resources from some of the most prestigious universities in the world, Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) have been hailed as both a revolution and threat for the ‘traditionally elite’ higher education system. Stepping away from the label of ‘traditionally elite’, this article argues that universities actually have relatively open origins and that the democratisation of higher education, as espoused by the big MOOC providers, is not entirely new. Instead, this retrospective analysis of the development of universities indicates a cyclical model of change, one in which waves of inclusivity alternate with bouts of exclusivity. In highlighting this issue, and parallel ideas about university as a ‘place’, this historical overview provides a useful backdrop to contemporary debates about MOOCs. It shows how MOOCs, as they currently appear, are neither revolutionising nor destroying higher education, they are simply part of its cyclical evolution.     

Exploring the Educational Experience of a Social Work Student with a Disability: A Narrative

Social work educators seem to have mixed feelings about the development of open and distance learning in Britain and the USA. Open and distance learning has tended to be marginalised. It has been compared unfavourably to campus based programmes, but there has been a lack of research on this topic in the United Kingdom. However, research in the USA indicates that open and distance learning social work students have a high degree of satisfaction with teaching and learning approaches compared with those on campus based programmes, while student outcomes and level of achievement have been at least comparable to those on ‘traditional’ programmes.

Some criticisms of open and distance learning in the UK are examined. These include narrow, mass produced, ‘assembly line’, mechanistic, isolating, individualistic approaches. Advantages of open and distance learning in the UK are considered, such as well organised teaching packs, flexibility and individual choice in pace, time and place of learning with especially good learning opportunities for mature women with family commitments. Improvements are advocated, centred around developing more opportunities to rehearse and develop practice skills, encouraging more divergent, critical thinkers operating from a more pluralistic knowledge base and the empowerment of students in collectives.
