This paper presents systematic methods of construction of optimal block designs for a double cross experiments for both even and odd values of “p” parental lines. The both even and odd values of designs are derived by using initial block of unreduced balanced incomplete block designs and initial block of row–column designs given by Bose et al. ABSTRACT

In this paper, we investigate the consistency of the Expectation Maximization (EM) algorithm-based information criteria for model selection with missing data. The criteria correspond to a penalization of the conditional expectation of the complete data log-likelihood given the observed data and with respect to the missing data conditional density. We present asymptotic properties related to maximum likelihood estimation in the presence of incomplete data and we provide sufficient conditions for the consistency of model selection by minimizing the information criteria. Their finite sample performance is illustrated through simulation and real data studies.  相似文献

Abstract

This paper is devoted to attain multiple objects via proposing two compound optimality criteria constructed with A-optimality criterion. The offered compound criteria are ADP-optimality to seek about an optimal design for minimizing the average variance, having an efficient parameter estimates, likewise, maximizing the probability of a particular event and AKL-optimality that provides an identified balance between model discrimination and minimizing the average variance of the parameter estimates. The equivalence theorems are stated and proved. Finally, a numerical example is applied on probit GLMs to illustrate the results for both compound criteria.  相似文献

Properties of a discrete adaptive design in attribute life testing situation are studied. It is shown that the design is strongly consistent and asymptotically normal. Supersaturated designs are a large class of factorial designs which can be used for screening out the important factors from a large set of potentially active variables. The huge advantage of these designs is that they reduce the experimental cost drastically, but their critical disadvantage is the confounding involved in the statistical analysis. In this article, we propose a method for analyzing data using several types of supersaturated designs. Modifications of widely used information criteria are given and applied to the variable selection procedure for the identification of the active factors. The effectiveness of the proposed method is depicted via simulated experiments and comparisons.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

We introduce a new four-parameter generalization of the exponentiated power Lindley (EPL) distribution, called the exponentiated power Lindley power series (EPLPS) distribution. The new distribution arises on a latent complementary risks scenario, in which the lifetime associated with a particular risk is not observable; rather, we observe only the minimum lifetime value among all risks. The distribution exhibits a variety of bathtub-shaped hazard rate functions. It contains as particular cases several lifetime distributions. Various properties of the distribution are investigated including closed-form expressions for the density function, cumulative distribution function, survival function, hazard rate function, the rth raw moment, and also the moments of order statistics. Expressions for the Rényi and Shannon entropies are also given. Moreover, we discuss maximum likelihood estimation and provide formulas for the elements of the Fisher information matrix. Finally, two data applications are given showing flexibility and potentiality of the EPLPS distribution.  相似文献

The relatively high failure rates, with important consequences in many cases, suggest that the implicitly acceptable risk levels corresponding to temporary civil engineering structures and activities might exceed the bounds of normally acceptable levels associated with different societal activities. Among other reasons, this may be attributed to the lack of a rational approach for the assessment of risks associated with the different technologies supporting these activities in general, and for structures in particular. There is a need for establishing appropriate target reliability levels for structures under temporary use taking into account specific circumstances such as reduced risk exposure times. This issue is being addressed in this article. Acceptance criteria for building-structure-related risks to persons obtained in prior studies are adapted to the special circumstances of nonpermanent risk exposure. Thereby, the general principle followed is to maintain the same risk levels per time unit as for permanently occupied buildings. The adaptation is based on the statistical annual fatality rate, a life safety risk metric that allows for a consistent comparison of risks across different societal activities and technologies. It is shown that the target reliability indices taking account of the temporary use of buildings might be significantly higher than the values suggested for permanently used structures.  相似文献

The multiple criteria ABC analysis is widely used in inventory management, and it can help organizations to assign inventory items into different classes with respect to several evaluation criteria. Many approaches have been proposed in the literature for addressing such a problem. However, most of these approaches are fully compensatory in multiple criteria aggregation. This means that an item scoring badly on one or more key criteria could be placed in good classes because these bad performances could be compensated by other criteria. Thus, it is necessary to consider the non-compensation in the multiple criteria ABC analysis. To the best of our knowledge, the ABC classification problem with non-compensation among criteria has not been studied sufficiently. We thus propose a new classification approach based on the outranking model to cope with such a problem in this paper. However, the relational nature of the outranking model makes the search for the optimal classification solution a complex combinatorial optimization problem. It is very time-consuming to solve such a problem using mathematical programming techniques when the inventory size is large. Therefore, we combine the clustering analysis and the simulated annealing algorithm to search for the optimal classification. The clustering analysis groups similar inventory items together and builds up the hierarchy of clusters of items. The simulated annealing algorithm searches for the optimal classification on different levels of the hierarchy. The proposed approach is illustrated by a practical example from a Chinese manufacturer. Furthermore, we validate the performance of the approach through experimental investigation on a large set of artificially generated data at the end of the paper.  相似文献
