Frailty models power variance function with cure fraction and latent risk factors negative binomial

In this article, we propose a flexible cure rate model, which is an extension of Cancho et al. (2011 Cancho, V.G., Rodrigues, J., de Castro, M. (2011). A flexible model for survival data with a cure rate: A Bayesian approach. J. Appl. Stat. 38:57–70.[Taylor &; Francis Online], [Web of Science ®] , [Google Scholar]) model, by incorporating a power variance function (PVF) frailty term in latent risk. The model is more flexible in terms of dispersion and it also quantifies the unobservable heterogeneity. The parameter estimation is reached by maximum likelihood estimation procedure and Monte Carlo simulation studies are considered to evaluate the proposed model performance. The practical relevance of the model is illustrated in a real data set of preventing cancer recurrence.

Weibull extension of bivariate exponential regression model with different frailty distributions

We propose bivariate Weibull regression model with frailty in which dependence is generated by a gamma or positive stable or power variance function distribution. We assume that the bivariate survival data follows bivariate Weibull of Hanagal (Econ Qual Control 19:83–90, 2004; Econ Qual Control 20:143–150, 2005a; Stat Pap 47:137–148, 2006a; Stat Methods, 2006b). There are some interesting situations like survival times in genetic epidemiology, dental implants of patients and twin births (both monozygotic and dizygotic) where genetic behavior (which is unknown and random) of patients follows known frailty distribution. Optimal estimation in rotation patterns

The aim of this paper is to examine the setting of surveys repeated over time when the elements in the sample are rotated in a predesigned way. On each occasion the best linear unbiased estimator (BLUE) of the current population mean, built on all past responses, is to be found. The most straightforward approach would be to compute the estimator as a solution of a least squares problem with linear restrictions. However, this method has certain drawbacks related to the fact that the size of the response data set increases over time. We follow a different approach based on finding linear recurrence relationships between optimal estimators obtained on successive occasions. Most of the original disadvantages are then corrected. In this context we present the solution to the BLUE estimation problem for some—sufficiently regular—classes of rotation patterns.

Positive youth development in Māori and New Zealand European adolescents through an adventure education programme

Within Aotearoa New Zealand there is growing interest in positive youth development (PYD). A PYD approach provides balance to narratives surrounding outcomes for youth and broadens our views of what we consider beneficial developmental outcomes. In the current study we used sail training as a method to promote PYD in Māori and New Zealand European adolescents. Specifically, 54 Māori and 37 New Zealand European adolescents completed the 7-day youth-development voyage on-board the gaffed rigged schooner, R. Tucker Thompson. We demonstrate that, for both Māori and New Zealand European adolescents, psychological resilience, self-esteem, and positive outlook on life increased from the first day to the last day of the voyage. In addition, we demonstrate that the increases in psychological resilience were driven by the social/collective identity adolescents formed with their group over the course of the voyage.

税务人员自我和谐与积极心理资本的相关研究

目的：探讨税务人员自我和谐与积极心理资本的关系。方法：采用自我和谐量表（SCCS）和积极心理资本量表（PPQ）对来自全国各地的256名税务系统公务人员进行测查。结果：①税务人员自我和谐与积极心理资本总体状况较好;②自我和谐总分及各因子在性别上不存在差异,税务人员心理资本及自我效能、韧性和希望因子存在显著的性别差异;③自我和谐总分及其分量表与心理资本总分及其分量表存在不同程度的负相关;④韧性因子和希望因子对自我与经验的不和谐以及自我的刻板性有显著的预测作用（t=-6．212～-1．992,P〈0．05）,希望因子能显著的预测自我的灵活性（t=7．885,P〈0．001）。结论：税务人员积极心理资本对自我和谐有重要影响,应当鼓励税务人员发挥积极心理资本的优势,提高自我和谐水平。     

替吉奥胶囊联合紫杉醇脂质体治疗术后复发胃癌的疗效观察

目的探讨替吉奥胶囊（维康达）联合紫杉醇脂质体全身化疗对术后复发胃癌的近期疗效及不良反应。方法 25例手术后复发胃癌入组,给予替吉奥胶囊联合紫杉醇脂质体方案（替吉奥胶囊按照体表面积给予40～60mg,2次/天,第1～14天;紫杉醇脂质体135mg/m2,第1天静滴90分钟;3周重复）化疗,患者均接受至少2个周期全身化疗后评价疗效。结果总有效率为48%（12/25）,其中完全缓解率8%、部分缓解率40%、稳定率24%,临床获益率达到72%。主要毒副作用有骨髓抑制、周围神经毒性及胃肠道反应。结论替吉奥胶囊（维康达）联合紫杉醇醇脂质治疗术后复发胃癌患者疗效肯定,毒副反应可以耐受。
