For testing the hypothesis that several (s?2) linear regression surfaces Xki=αk+βkcki+Zki (k=1,…,s) are parallel to one another, i.e., β1=?=βs, a class of rank-order tests are considered. The tests are shown to be asymptotically distribution-free, and their asymptotic efficiency relative to the general likelihood ratio test is derived. In the linear regression model, the asymptotic distributions of certain functions of confidence bounds of a class of confidence intervals for the regression parameter arc investigated. The class of confidence intervals we consider in this paper are based on the usual linear rank statistics (signed as well as unsigned). Under suitable assumptions, if the confidence intervals are based on the signed linear rank statistics, it is established that the lengths, properly normalized, of the confidence intervals converge in law to the standard normal distributions; if the confidence intervals arc based on the unsigned linear rank statistics, it is then proved that a linear function of the confidence bounds converges in law to a normal distribution.  相似文献

A class of tests is proposed for testing H0 F?(x) = e?λx, λ > 0, x≥0 vs. H1 F?(x + y) ≤ F?(x)F?(y), x, y≥0, with strict inequality for some x, y ≥ 0 (F = new is better than used). Efficiency comparisons of some tests within the class are made and a new test is proposed on the basis of these comparisons. Consistency and the asymptotic normality of the class of tests is proved under fairly broad conditions on the underlying entities.  相似文献

Nonlinear regression models arise when definite information is available about the form of the relationship between the response and predictor variables. Such information might involve direct knowledge of the actual form of the true model or might be represented by a set of differential equations that the model must satisfy. We develop M-procedures for estimating parameters and testing hypotheses of interest about these parameters in nonlinear regression models for repeated measurement data. Under regularity conditions, the asymptotic properties of the M-procedures are presented, including the uniform linearity, normality and consistency. The computation of the M-estimators of the model parameters is performed with iterative procedures, similar to Newton–Raphson and Fisher's scoring methods. The methodology is illustrated by using a multivariate logistic regression model with real data, along with a simulation study.  相似文献

The problem of selecting a graphical model is considered as a performing simultaneously multiple tests. The control of the overall Type I error on the selected graph is done using the so famous Holm's procedure. We prove that when we use a consistent edge exclusion test the selected graph is asymptotically equal to the true graph with probability at least equal to a fixed level 1 ? α. This method is then used for the selection of mixed concentration graph models by performing the χ2-edge exclusion test. We also apply the method to two classical examples and to simulated data. We compare the overall error of the selected model with the one obtained using the stepwise method. We establish that the control is better when we use the Holm's procedure.  相似文献

An explicit decomposition on asymptotically independent distributed as chi-squared with one degree of freedom components of the Pearson–Fisher and Dzhaparidze–Nikulin tests is presented. The decomposition is formally the same for both tests and is valid for any partitioning of a sample space. Vector-valued tests, components of which can be not only different scalar tests based on the same sample, but also scalar tests based on components or groups of components of the same statistic are considered. In this work we investigate nonnested tests for two competing univariate dynamic linear models with autoregressive disturbances, where the motivation for instrumental variable estimation is mainly due to the recognized presence of current endogenous variables in the regression function, either in one or both models. As the previous transformation of both models yields regression functions which are nonlinear in the parameters, the attractive Gauss-Newton regression (GNR) approach, firstly advocated by Davidson and Mackinnon (1981 Davidson , R. , Mackinnon , J. In this article, we address the problem of mining and analyzing multivariate functional data. That is, data where each observation is a set of possibly correlated functions. Complex data of this kind is more and more common in many research fields, particularly in the biomedical context. In this work, we propose and apply a new concept of depth measure for multivariate functional data. With this new depth measure it is possible to generalize robust statistics, such as the median, to the multivariate functional framework, which in turn allows the application of outlier detection, boxplots construction, and nonparametric tests also in this more general framework. We present an application to Electrocardiographic (ECG) signals.  相似文献

The Wald's method for constructing chi-squared tests of fit has been formulated more accurately. It is shown that Wald's type statistics will follow the central chi-squared distribution if and only if the limit covariance matrix of standardized frequencies will not depend on unknown parameters. Several examples that illustrate this important fact are presented. In particular, it is shown that the goodness-of-fit statistic developed by Moore and Stubblebine does not follow the chi-squared limit distribution, and, hence, cannot be used for testing multivariate normality.  相似文献
