Mean residual life ordering

A new partial ordering among life distributions in terms of their mean residual life is introduced. This ordering is weaker than the hazard rate ordering but it is stronger than the variability ordering. Characterizations of the DMRL and NBUE distribution are given.     

Lp-norm spherical distribution

In this paper, the spherical distribution is generalized to the L_p-norm spherical distribution, S(n, p), through the stochastic representation. Then the form of its p.d.f. characterizing the S(n, p) distribution is derived. Marginal, conditional distributions and the moments of S(n, p) distribution are obtained. The order statistics and the invariance property of S(n,p) distribution are also investigated.

外空活动商业化背景下空间法中的国籍联系

国籍联系强调了国家在空间活动中的义务和责任,国籍联系意味着责任的指向,所以相关国籍国要增强责任意识,积极采取监管等措施,尽量减小和分散风险,并尽力避免损害的发生。然而,在外空私有化和商业化的背景下,有必要降低国籍国的风险,以鼓励其减少对私人外空活动的限制;同时,这种风险的分散有利于强化私人主体的责任意识;因此,“国籍联系的放松”应当是空间责任制度发展的一个趋势。但从国际私法层面来讲,应当加强“国籍”等连结点在解决私人主体从事外空活动时产生的国际民商事纠纷中的作用。     

随机供货下销售商最优订购决策

在实际生产生活中,存在着由于产品本身生产的随机性和一些外部因素导致生产商供货不确定的问题。在此背景下,本文研究单周期供货不确定情况下销售商的最优订购决策。从理论上分析了最终到货量为订购量与扰动变量加和的情况下,销售商存在最优订购量,按照新的策略订购可以使销售商利润最大化,并最大程度地消除由于订货不足或者订货过量所带来的负面效应。

Preparation of chemotherapy drugs: Planning policy for reduced waiting times

This study investigates the impact of pharmacy policies on patient waiting time in the Chemotherapy Day Unit of the Netherlands Cancer Institute—Antoni van Leeuwenhoek hospital. The project evaluated whether a reduction in waiting time resulting from medication orders being prepared in advance of patient appointments was justified, given that medications prepared in advance are wasted when patients arrive too sick for treatment. Within this context, we derive analytic expressions to approximate patient waiting times and wastage costs, allowing management to see the tradeoff between these two metrics for different policies. Using a case study and a simulation model, the approximations are evaluated. The use of analytic expressions allows the analysis to be easily repeated when medication costs change or when new medications/protocols are introduced. In the same vein, other hospitals with different patient case mixes can easily complete the analysis in their settings. Finally, the outcome from this study resulted in a new policy at the cancer center which is expected to decrease the waiting time by half, while only increasing pharmacy's costs by 1-2%.
