In this paper we study the sampling properties of a test statistic which has important applications in the area of linear stochastic control systems with multi-inputs and multi-outputs. The statistic is the ratio of a partial sum of the eigenvalues of a sample covariance matrix and its trace. It turns out that using a method due to Sugiura we may derive a useful approximation for its distribution up to and including terms of order l/n, where n denotes the appropriate size. Numerical illustrations using real data are given.  相似文献

For the problem of testing the equality of slopes of several regression lines against the alternative that the slopes are in increasing (decreasing) order of magnitude, two types of tests are proposed. These are the likelihood ratio test and a test that depends on suitable linear combination of one group statistics. Rank analogues of the two tests are also examined.  相似文献

In this article, a simple linear regression model with independent and symmetric but non-identically distributed errors is considered. Asymptotic properties of the rank regression estimate defined in Jaeckel [Estimating regression coefficients by minimizing the dispersion of the residuals, Ann. Math. Statist. 43 (1972), pp. 1449–1458] are studied. We show that the studied estimator is consistent and asymptotically normally distributed. The cases of bounded and unbounded score functions are examined separately. The regularity conditions of the article are exemplified for finite mixture distributions.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Asymptotic distributions of the standardized estimators of the squared and non squared multiple correlation coefficients under nonnormality were obtained using Edgeworth expansion up to O(1/n). Conditions for the normal-theory asymptotic biases and variances to hold under nonnormality were derived with respect to the parameter values and the weighted sum of the cumulants of associated variables. The condition for the cumulants indicates a compensatory effect to yield the robust normal-theory lower-order cumulants. Simulations were performed to see the usefulness of the formulas of the asymptotic expansions using the model with the asymptotic robustness under nonnormality, which showed that the approximations by Edgeworth expansions were satisfactory.  相似文献

Abstract. We consider N independent stochastic processes (X i (t), t ∈ [0,T i ]), i=1,…, N, defined by a stochastic differential equation with drift term depending on a random variable φ i . The distribution of the random effect φ i depends on unknown parameters which are to be estimated from the continuous observation of the processes Xi. We give the expression of the exact likelihood. When the drift term depends linearly on the random effect φ i and φ i has Gaussian distribution, an explicit formula for the likelihood is obtained. We prove that the maximum likelihood estimator is consistent and asymptotically Gaussian, when T i =T for all i and N tends to infinity. We discuss the case of discrete observations. Estimators are computed on simulated data for several models and show good performances even when the length time interval of observations is not very large.  相似文献

We consider first the class of M-estimators of scale that are location-scale equivariant and Fisher consistent at the error distribution of the shrinking contamination neighborhood and derive an expression for the maximal asymptotic mean-squared-error, for a suitably regular score function, followed by a lower bound on it. We next show that the minimax asymptotic mean-squzred-error is attained at an M-estimator of scale with the truncated MLE score function which, when specialized to the Standard Normal error distribution has the form of Huber's Proposal 2. The latter minimax property is also shown to hold for α-trimmed variance as an L-estimator of scale.  相似文献

M-quantile regression is defined as a “quantile-like” generalization of robust regression based on influence functions. This article outlines asymptotic properties for the M-quantile regression coefficients estimators in the case of i.i.d. data with stochastic regressors, paying attention to adjustments due to the first-step scale estimation. A variance estimator of the M-quantile regression coefficients based on the sandwich approach is proposed. Empirical results show that this estimator appears to perform well under different simulated scenarios. The sandwich estimator is applied in the small area estimation context for the estimation of the mean squared error of an estimator for the small area means. The results obtained improve previous findings, especially in the case of heteroskedastic data.  相似文献

Abstract

This article is devoted to study the problem of test of periodicity in the restricted exponential autoregressive (EXPAR) model. The local asymptotic normality property, of this model, is shown via the adapted sufficient conditions due to Swensen (1985 Swensen, A.R. (1985). The asymptotic distribution of the likelihood ratio for autoregressive time series with a regression trend. J. Multivariate Anal. 16:5470.[Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]). Using this result, in the case where the innovation density is specified, we obtain a parametric local asymptotic “most stringent” test.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

This article is concerned with the derivation and study of the Cornish-Fisher expansion for a wide class of estimators of the parameter in the first order autoregressive process. Second and third order Cornish-Fisher approximations to the quantile of the distribution of the corresponding asymptotically normal standardized statistic are stated explicitly and their accuracy is examined, both theoretically and numerically, by comparing them with the exact value of the quantile obtained by Monte Carlo simulation.  相似文献
