Functional boxplots based on epigraphs and hypographs

Functional boxplot is an attractive technique to visualize data that come from functions. We propose an alternative to the functional boxplot based on depth measures. Our proposal generalizes the usual construction of the box-plot in one dimension related to the down-upward orderings of the data by considering two intuitive pre-orders in the functional context. These orderings are based on the epigraphs and hypographs of the data that allow a new definition of functional quartiles which is more robust to shape outliers. Simulated and real examples show that this proposal provides a convenient visualization technique with a great potential for analyzing functional data and illustrate its usefulness to detect outliers that other procedures do not detect.

贯流风叶缺陷红外自动检测中噪声抑制的方法

针对贯流风叶缺陷红外自动检测中环境光干扰导致检测准确率不高的问题,文章提出了基于调制红外光、差动 传感器与Hilbert-Huang变换去噪相结合的方法,实现了对贯流风叶注塑缺料缺陷的在线自动检测。首先由红外光源向 外发射经过幅值调制的红外光,当红外光透过贯流风叶后,由差动传感器接收透射信号并进行放大,经A/D采样后送入 单片机,再经过Hilbert-Huang变换去噪,提高了缺陷检测信号的信噪比。通过对贯流风叶产品的实际检测,该方法有效 地抑制了检测中环境光的干扰,提高了缺陷识别的准确率。

进行沿海滩涂功能区划,是推进海洋及海岸带功能区划的基础,也是有效保护沿海滩涂的重要举措。沿海滩涂可以划分为不同的种类,不同种类之间的生态功能和价值存在显著差异。因此,要实现沿海滩涂开发与保护的平衡,需要根据滩涂种类的差异,进行功能区划。沿海滩涂功能区划应该建立在全国主体功能区划、环境功能区划、海洋功能区划基础上的。沿海滩涂功能区划成功实施的关键,是确立合理的划分标准,在此基础上进行划分体系及指标的设定。     

功能对等与旅游英语——旅游行业的英汉互译问题

根据功能对等的原则,对旅游宣传中的汉英以及英汉互译进行了浅析。翻译目的论与纽马克、奈达提出的有关理论虽然侧重点不同,但核心都是功能主义。依据这一原则,译者在翻译实践中不是采取一成不变的做法,而应围绕实用性这一目的展开。基于此,对英汉互译的文本进行了分析,以论述功能对等的重要性。     

A comparison of analysis procedures for correlated binary data in dedicated multi‐rater imaging trials

In this paper, three analysis procedures for repeated correlated binary data with no a priori ordering of the measurements are described and subsequently investigated. Examples for correlated binary data could be the binary assessments of subjects obtained by several raters in the framework of a clinical trial. This topic is especially of relevance when success criteria have to be defined for dedicated imaging trials involving several raters conducted for regulatory purposes. First, an analytical result on the expectation of the ‘Majority rater’ is presented when only the marginal distributions of the single raters are given. The paper provides a simulation study where all three analysis procedures are compared for a particular setting. It turns out that in many cases, ‘Average rater’ is associated with a gain in power. Settings were identified where ‘Majority significant’ has favorable properties. ‘Majority rater’ is in many cases difficult to interpret. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Estimation for semi-functional linear regression

This paper studies estimation in semi-functional linear regression. A general formulation is used to treat mean regression, median regression, quantile regression and robust mean regression in one setting. The linear slope function is estimated by the functional principal component basis and the nonparametric component is approximated by a B-spline function. The global convergence rates of the estimators of unknown slope function and nonparametric component are established under suitable norm. The convergence rate of the mean-squared prediction error for the proposed estimators is also established. Finite sample properties of our procedures are studied through Monte Carlo simulations. A real data example about Berkeley growth data is used to illustrate our proposed methodology.
