The use of logistic regression modeling has seen a great deal of attention in the literature in recent years. This includes all aspects of the logistic regression model including the identification of outliers. A variety of methods for the identification of outliers, such as the standardized Pearson residuals, are now available in the literature. These methods, however, are successful only if the data contain a single outlier. In the presence of multiple outliers in the data, which is often the case in practice, these methods fail to detect the outliers. This is due to the well-known problems of masking (false negative) and swamping (false positive) effects. In this article, we propose a new method for the identification of multiple outliers in logistic regression. We develop a generalized version of standardized Pearson residuals based on group deletion and then propose a technique for identifying multiple outliers. This paper studies a method of adjusting the ordinary least squares residuals, when estimating and comparing dispersions, at various levels of factors in a replicated factorial experiment. Abstract. In this article, we introduce a residual analysis for inhomogeneous Neyman–Scott models based on Laplace functionals. Our simulation study shows that this residual analysis method has a good performance in assessing goodness‐of‐fit and revealing inadequacy of the fitted model. Outlier detection is a critical part of data analysis, and the use of Studentized residuals from regression models fit using least squares is a very common approach to identifying discordant observations in linear regression problems. In this paper we propose a bootstrap approach to constructing critical points for use in outlier detection in the context of least-squares Studentized residuals, and find that this approach allows naturally for mild departures in model assumptions such as non-Normal error distributions. When a control chart is used in practice, knowledge about several characteristics of the method is important for the judgement of which action is appropriate at an alarm. Assessing the goodness-of-fit of latent variable models for categorical data becomes a problem in presence of sparse data since the classical goodness-of-fit statistics are badly approximated by the chi square distribution. A good solution to this problem is represented by statistical tests based on the residuals associated to marginal distributions of the manifest variables (Cagnone and Mignani, 2007; Maydeu-Olivares and Joe, 2005; Reiser, 1996). The quadratic form associated to the test involves the use of a generalized inverse of the covariance matrix of the sample proportions. Logistic discrimination is a well documented method for classifying observations to two or more groups. However, estimation of the discriminant rule can be seriously affected by outliers. To overcome this, Cox and Ferry produced a robust logistic discrimination technique. Although their method worked in practice, parameter estimation was sometimes prone to convergence problems. This paper proposes a simplified robust logistic model which does not have any such problems and which takes a generalized linear model form. Misclassification rates calculated in a simulation exercise are used to compare the new method with ordinary logistic discrimination. Model diagnostics are also presented. The newly proposed model is then used on data collected from pregnant women at two district general hospitals. A robust logistic discriminant is calculated which can be used to predict accurately which method of feeding a woman will eventually use: breast feeding or bottle feeding. 相似文献

The linear transformation model is a semiparametric model which contains the Cox proportional hazards model and the proportional odds model as special cases. Cai et al.
