Order statistics from trivariate normal and -distributions in terms of generalized skew-normal and skew- distributions

We consider here a generalization of the skew-normal distribution, GSN(λ₁,λ₂,ρ), defined through a standard bivariate normal distribution with correlation ρ, which is a special case of the unified multivariate skew-normal distribution studied recently by Arellano-Valle and Azzalini [2006. On the unification of families of skew-normal distributions. Scand. J. Statist. 33, 561–574]. We then present some simple and useful properties of this distribution and also derive its moment generating function in an explicit form. Next, we show that distributions of order statistics from the trivariate normal distribution are mixtures of these generalized skew-normal distributions; thence, using the established properties of the generalized skew-normal distribution, we derive the moment generating functions of order statistics, and also present expressions for means and variances of these order statistics.Next, we introduce a generalized skew-t_ν distribution, which is a special case of the unified multivariate skew-elliptical distribution presented by Arellano-Valle and Azzalini [2006. On the unification of families of skew-normal distributions. Scand. J. Statist. 33, 561–574] and is in fact a three-parameter generalization of Azzalini and Capitanio's [2003. Distributions generated by perturbation of symmetry with emphasis on a multivariate skew t distribution. J. Roy. Statist. Soc. Ser. B 65, 367–389] univariate skew-t_ν form. We then use the relationship between the generalized skew-normal and skew-t_ν distributions to discuss some properties of generalized skew-t_ν as well as distributions of order statistics from bivariate and trivariate t_ν distributions. We show that these distributions of order statistics are indeed mixtures of generalized skew-t_ν distributions, and then use this property to derive explicit expressions for means and variances of these order statistics.     

A Construction of Lancaster Probabilities with Margins in the Multidimensional Meixner Class

The well-known Meixner class (Meixner, 1934) of probabilities on R has been extended recently to R ^d (Pommeret, 1996). This generalized Meixner class corresponds to the simple quadratic natural exponential families characterized by Casalis (1996). Following Lancaster (1975), the present paper offers a characterization of the joint probability of a randomvector ( X, Y ) such that the two variables X and Y on R ^d belong to the multidimensional Meixner class and fulfil a bi-orthogonality condition involving orthogonal polynomials. The joint probabilities, called Lancaster probabilities, are characterized by two sequences of orthogonal polynomials with respect to the margins and a sequence of expectations of products. Some multivariate probabilities are studied, namely the Poisson-Gaussian and the gamma-Gaussian.

政党价值观的功能主要包括显功能和潜功能,显功能又包括正功能和反功能两个方面.政党价值观的正功能,是政党价值观对于政党成员、政党组织乃至整个社会所具有的积极功能,主要表现为合法性辩护、凝聚激励、价值导向和社会整合等功能.政党价值观的反功能,是指政党价值观对政党的生存和发展乃至整个社会产生的消极作用和不良影响,集中体现在错误或落后的价值观的不良影响之中.不为政党成员和广大民众所预期而又确实地对政党乃至社会产生直接或间接影响的一切社会作用或客观结果,便是政党价值观的潜功能.这种结果可能与政党及其成员的主观目的相一致,也可能出现不一致的情况.     

大学英语教学改革与大学英语教学语言改善

英语教学语言是教师执行教学的工具,同时还是学生语言输入的一个重要来源。教师教学语言的数量和质量会影响甚至决定课堂教学的成败。我们的大学英语教学要按照2004年教育部新颁布的《大学英语课程教学要求》进行改革,要上台阶,就必须分析教师的教学语言,努力改变目前大学英语教师教学语言的现状。     

论建立大学生村官长效机制的政策导向

目前学术界对大学生村官计划的利弊得失尚未形成共识.从大学生村官计划的初衷和理论逻辑来看,其积极意义是不容置疑的,但现行的政策导向属于反向激励和短期激励,不利于建立大学生村官长效机制.正确的政策导向应当是:加强对大学生村官计划的正向激励和长期激励,从工业反哺农业、城市支持农村、统筹城乡关系的战略高度加大对大学生村官计划的经费投入,可以借鉴复员退伍军人安置制度和国家、省部级等课题规划制度对大学生村官给予经费支持;推行大学生村官村民“合同制”和任职年限弹性制度,鼓励永久任职,大学生村官配额应重点向老、少、边、贫农村地区倾斜.     

网络出版物对当代大学生思想的影响

在网络快速发展的今天,网络出版物作为一种新生事物应运而生。相比传统出版物,网络出版物有很多优势,但是也存在不足的一面。网络出版物对大学生的思想带来积极影响的同时也带来了一些负面影响。本文从网络出版物的特点出发,分析了网络出版物对大学生思想产生的影响,并针对其中的不良影响提出了应对策略。     

高校大学生积极情绪、心理弹性与挫折承受力的关系

本研究目的在于探讨大学生心理弹性、积极情绪与挫折承受力之间是否存在某种关系。随机抽取3所高校的686名大学毕业生为施试,对其施测心理弹性量表,积极消极情绪量表、挫折承受力量表。结果发现：①心理弹性与积极情绪（r=0．373,P〈0．01）、心理弹性与挫折承受力（r=0．499,P〈0．01）和积极情绪与挫折承受力（r=0．499,P〈0．01）正相关;②积极情绪能够部分中介心理弹性和挫折承受力之间的关系,当积极情绪进入回归方程时,心理弹性对挫折承受力的预测效应从0．499降至0．345。大学生的心理弹性对挫折承受力的预测效应是通过积极情绪这一中介变量实现的。
