后殖民主义视角下的《地之国》解读

约瑟夫·奥尼尔的《地之国》被认为是近年来最出色的表现"9.11事件"后美国的作品之一,但字里行间表现出的后殖民主义特征才是其最引人瞩目之处。小说以回忆录的方式记叙了两个不同肤色、不同阶层的男人在美国的境遇和友谊。本文试图从后殖民主义理论出发,从移民的美国梦想、身份建构和文化认同几个方面阐释作品的深刻内涵,探索众多移民在西方文化中心论依旧盛行的今天,在全球化的时代获得物质和精神双重满足的途径。     

论中国历史上的北方民族政权:以辽、西夏、金、元四朝为重点

古代北方民族,常常形成实力强大的集团,对中国历史的全局产生重大影响。在国家政治组织层面上,征服王朝既采纳了一些汉法,又掺入了不少原先政权的制度因素,这样的结合导致了真正的君主专制。女真人政权的合法性得到境内大多数汉族知识阶层人士的认同,蒙古人的元朝则有些逊色。辽、西夏、金、元等王朝非汉族的统治,并没有改变汉地社会、经济、文化的基本面貌,它们的影响主要是政治上的。     

The struggle of autonomy and authenticity: framing the savage refugee

James Hathaway has described refugee law as ‘fundamentally oriented to the promotion of autonomy’. Borrowed from the Kantian roots of liberal rights theory, this theme has come to the fore as refugee advocates decry increasingly draconian experiments in deflection and deterrence. But what exactly does it mean for a refugee to exercise autonomy? And how is it connected to that other popular refrain – that those who arrive irregularly by boat in Australia, despite high recognition rates, are not ‘genuine’ refugees? By examining the assumptions underpinning autonomy as a contemporary political value, and working within the theoretical construct that identifies a state's ‘recognition’ of autonomy with authenticity, this article explores tensions within both public discourse on refugees and the discipline of refugee law itself. It considers how and why the refugee exercising ‘authentic’ moral agency by boarding a boat is depicted not just as a threat, but as inherently irrational (and thus not ‘authentically’ autonomous) and less ‘genuine’ (and thus virtuous) than the ‘passive’ refugee languishing in a camp overseas, awaiting ‘our’ redemptive touch. Finally, it asks whether refugee law similarly suffers from the contradictory moral promise of human rights law which places autonomy at its heart while in practice requiring that humanity be split between victim, savage and redeemer.

群众路线的认识论是交互认识论,强调了“干-群”双主体之间的对等性、互动性和主体性原则,因而彰显了群众的主体性地位,摒弃了主客体对立的认识论思路,是历史唯物主义在认识论与本体论、辩证法上相一致的表达。通过交互认识,领导与群众形成共同知识与共同信念,在一个不断信息更新、信念修正、信息域和知识域增大的动态过程中,实现领导与群众的利益与责任的一致、手段与目标的一致。     

Validation of Nonparametric Two-sample Bootstrap in ROC Analysis on Large Datasets

The nonparametric two-sample bootstrap is applied to computing uncertainties of measures in receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis on large datasets in areas such as biometrics, speaker recognition, etc. when the analytical method cannot be used. Its validation was studied by computing the standard errors of the area under ROC curve using the well-established analytical Mann–Whitney statistic method and also using the bootstrap. The analytical result is unique. The bootstrap results are expressed as a probability distribution due to its stochastic nature. The comparisons were carried out using relative errors and hypothesis testing. These match very well. This validation provides a sound foundation for such computations.     

概念、社会与规范性——黑格尔的规范性理论之争

罗尔斯等人对康德的道德哲学做出了建构论的解读,从此将建构论带入到规范性研究中。因为不满康德哲学自身的理论困境,以布兰顿、皮平为代表的社会建构论开始了对黑格尔的规范性研究,将之视为对康德哲学的社会化,把以相互承认为基础的社会视为规范的来源,这一解读方式被称之为“标准解读”。在社会建构论的影响下,斯特恩、莱蒂宁等人分别提出了对黑格尔哲学的规范性解读。一时间,对黑格尔规范性的研究产生了众多丰富的理论成果。考察这一时段理论得失,有助于我们推动黑格尔的规范性研究。     

Reading your Counterpart: The Benefit of Emotion Recognition Accuracy for Effectiveness in Negotiation

Using meta-analysis, we find a consistent positive correlation between emotion recognition accuracy (ERA) and goal-oriented performance. However, this existing research relies primarily on subjective perceptions of performance. The current study tested the impact of ERA on objective performance in a mixed-motive buyer-seller negotiation exercise. Greater recognition of posed facial expressions predicted better objective outcomes for participants from Singapore playing the role of seller, both in terms of creating value and claiming a greater share for themselves. The present study is distinct from past research on the effects of individual differences on negotiation outcomes in that it uses a performance-based test rather than self-reported measure. These results add to evidence for the predictive validity of emotion recognition measures on practical outcomes.

Note passing as gendered practices of public ambiguity in a hyper‐masculine organization

This article explores a surprising and seemingly mundane organizational practice: passing notes during professional meetings. Based on 34 in‐depth interviews with women in a hyper‐masculine organization — the Israeli military — this study focuses on what I term gendered practices of public ambiguity. It demonstrates how these practices shed light on three interrelated paths to power at work: (i) practices of public intimacy between men; (ii) practices of women's degradation by men; and (iii) practices of recognition claims by women. The tension between the publicity inherent in the routine passing of notes and the ambiguity of their contents calls for a more nuanced theorization of gendered power practices, which transcends the accepted dichotomy of doing and undoing gender, reproducing or challenging the symbolic gender order. The findings show that gendered micro‐practices can become polysemic symbolic spaces in which women redirect the flow of power, if only temporarily and locally, and turn it into a multidirectional and multi‐agentic resource. The conceptual contribution of these findings is discussed in terms of the positioning of women in hyper‐masculine environments as pragmatic subjects who (re‐)construct mechanisms of power out of the restricted repertoire available to them.     

Relationship management through social media influencers: Effects of followers’ awareness of paid endorsement

This study aimed to examine the effects of awareness of paid endorsements by social media influencers on followers’ cognitive persuasion knowledge (ad recognition), attitudinal persuasion knowledge (relationships with the influencer), and behavioral intentions, specifically eWOM intention and purchase intention. Employing an online survey (N = 269), this study found that awareness of paid endorsement relates to ad recognition, which is correlated with purchase and eWOM intentions. We also found that awareness of paid endorsement is correlated with influencer-follower relationship, which is associated with purchase and eWOM intentions. However, ad recognition does not affect influencer-follower relationship. Implications for public relations theory, practice, and policy are discussed.
