ABSTRACT

Researchers are often required to reuse data that have been collected and analyzed for other purposes. Issues may arise if the outcome of this secondary study is related to the outcome of the first study and traditional methods may fail to deliver a consistent estimate. Here we propose a semiparametric approach that takes this correlation into account and produces asymptotically consistent and normally distributed estimates. We discuss its performance through simulations and apply the proposed method to a real dataset.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Discrepancies are measures which are defined as the deviation between the empirical and the theoretical uniform distribution. In this way, discrepancy is a measure of uniformity which provides a way of construction a special kind of space filling designs, namely uniform designs. Several discrepancies have been proposed in recent literature. A brief, selective review of these measures including some construction algorithms are given in this paper. In this paper we focus on the problem of supersaturated (fewer runs than factors) screening experiments. We consider two major types of designs which have been proposed in this situ¬ation: random balance and two-stage group screening. We discuss the relative merits and demerits of each strategy. In this paper we consider two strategies for variation reduction. One of them is the exploitation of interactions. Abstract

In this article we propose some extensions and applications of the nonparametric combination of dependent rankings (see Pesarin, F., Lago, A. (2000). Nonparametric combination of department rankings with applications to the quality assessment of industrial products. Metron LVIII (1–2):39–52.) This methodology is applied to Conjoint Analysis in order to aggregate (ex ante) preferences from a group of individuals. Furthermore, a new global association test (GAT) is introduced in order to test for the association of the global ranking with all attributes of interest. The GAT procedure allows the experimenter to have clear indications on significant attributes by considering the intensity of the optimal weights given by the procedure itself. This may help the experimenter in interpreting the usual analysis involving the normal plot for detecting active effects.  相似文献

Supersaturated designs are a large class of factorial designs which can be used for screening out the important factors from a large set of potentially active variables. The huge advantage of these designs is that they reduce the experimental cost drastically, but their critical disadvantage is the confounding involved in the statistical analysis. In this article, we propose a method for analyzing data using several types of supersaturated designs. Modifications of widely used information criteria are given and applied to the variable selection procedure for the identification of the active factors. The effectiveness of the proposed method is depicted via simulated experiments and comparisons.  相似文献

Optimal designs for estimating the optimum mixing proportions in a quadratic mixture model was first investigated by Pal and Mandal (2006). In this article, similar investigation is carried out when mean response in a mixture experiment is described by a quadratic log contrast model. It is found that in a symmetric subspace of the finite dimensional simplex, there exists a D-optimal design that puts weights at the centroid of the sub-space and the vertices of the experimental domain. The optimality is checked by numerical computation using Equivalence Theorem.  相似文献
