布努瑶民间法及其和谐社区秩序的构筑——以广西都安瑶族自治县下坳乡加文村为例

本文通过对一个典型布努瑶村寨--加文村--的田野调查,描述、探究布努瑶民间法的表现形式、调解方式及在社区秩序构筑中的和谐运作.文章认为民间法作为一种与村民生活十分贴近的"准法规范"在乡村生活中发挥着不可或缺的作用,是基层社会稳定与繁荣的润滑剂,延续着国家权力对社区的控制.因此,重视来自民间法在农村社区稳定和法治建设中的建构力量,对构筑平安新农村的法治秩序无疑有重要的现实意义.     

Phase II Monitoring of Geometric Profiles

Geometric profiles can be modeled effectively by large and small scale components. In several articles, a regression model with spatial autoregressive error term is combined with control charts to monitor geometric profiles. However, once a signal occurs, control charts would not be able to determine whether the shift is due to the large or small scale component. In this article, a combination of a multivariate and an omnibus control charts is used to monitor the large scale and small scale components to determine whether the shift is due to the large scale or small scale components.     

Single‐Period Two‐Product Assemble‐to‐Order Systems with a Common Component and Uncertain Demand Patterns

We consider a single‐period assemble‐to‐order system that produces two types of end products to satisfy two independent and stochastic customer orders. Each type of product is used to fulfill a particular customer order and these two products share a common component. Furthermore, one customer may confirm her order before the other one, and the manufacturer needs to make a commitment immediately upon the receipt of each customer order on how many products to be delivered. We propose a model for optimizing the inventory and production decisions under the above ATO environment. We also extend our model to the situation where the manufacturer can fulfill the unsatisfied low‐priority demand using the left‐over inventories after fulfilling the high‐priority demand, in case the low‐priority customer arrives first. Numerical experiments are conducted, which provide some interesting insights on the impact of uncertain demand pattern.

美国犹太裔作家约瑟夫·海勒的代表作《第二十二条军规》通过其主要人物的异化表征了一种断裂的“人-环境”关系。这种断裂的关系模式及其引起的身份异化在后现代文化的非理性荒诞氛围中加剧,呈现出其后现代形态。在生态美学的阐释视野中,小说的结尾暗示了这种后现代断裂之劫的救赎希望,一种于融通之序中救赎的可能性。     

宪政需要的层次结构探究

宪政需要是公民、国家对政治形态的宪政特征、功能的认知而产生的一种期待,宪政需要是法律需要的下位概念,法律需要是宪政需要的逻辑前提。宪政需要具有层次性,由低向高分为三个层次:宪政权利需要、宪政规范需要及宪政秩序需要。结合中国宪政实际,按照宪政需要规律,提出宪政需要层次论,完善宪政需要层次结构的相应对策,以此来维护公民的宪政需要,推进国家的宪政建设。

结合工科专业的就业市场专业英语实际需要,剖析了目前工科专业英语教学模式中存在的问题。从教学内容和教学组织两个方面,研究运用弹性创造性的教学设计理念,构建合理专业英语的教授内容,采用多样化教学模式,激发学生学习的主动性,深化和拓展学生创新学习的能力,为提升学生的高阶能力和工作适应能力具有重要意义。     

Use of asymmetric loss functions in sequential estimation problems for multiple linear regression

When estimating in a practical situation, asymmetric loss functions are preferred over squared error loss functions, as the former is more appropriate than the latter in many estimation problems. We consider here the problem of fixed precision point estimation of a linear parametric function in beta for the multiple linear regression model using asymmetric loss functions. Due to the presence of nuissance parameters, the sample size for the estimation problem is not known beforehand and hence we take the recourse of adaptive multistage sampling methodologies. We discuss here some multistage sampling techniques and compare the performances of these methodologies using simulation runs. The implementation of the codes for our proposed models is accomplished utilizing MATLAB 7.0.1 program run on a Pentium IV machine. Finally, we highlight the significance of such asymmetric loss functions with few practical examples.     

Nonparametric multiple comparison procedures for unbalanced one-way factorial designs

In this paper, we present several nonparametric multiple comparison (MC) procedures for unbalanced one-way factorial designs. The nonparametric hypotheses are formulated by using normalized distribution functions and the comparisons are carried out on the basis of the relative treatment effects. The proposed test statistics take the form of linear pseudo rank statistics and the asymptotic joint distribution of the pseudo rank statistics for testing treatments versus control satisfies the multivariate totally positive of order two condition irrespective of the correlations among the rank statistics. Therefore, in the context of MCs of treatments versus control, the nonparametric Simes test is validated for the global testing of the intersection hypothesis. For simultaneous testing of individual hypotheses, the nonparametric Hochberg stepup procedure strongly controls the familywise type I error rate asymptotically. With regard to all pairwise comparisons, we generalize various single-step and stagewise procedures to perform comparisons on the relative treatment effects. To further compare with normal theory counterparts, the asymptotic relative efficiencies of the nonparametric MC procedures with respect to the parametric MC procedures are derived under a sequence of Pitman alternatives in a nonparametric location shift model for unbalanced one-way layouts. Monte Carlo simulations are conducted to demonstrate the validity and power of the proposed nonparametric MC procedures.     

The 'heuristics and biases' bias in expert elicitation

Summary.  In the early 1970s Tversky and Kahneman published a series of papers on 'heuristics and biases' describing human inadequacies in assessing probabilities, culminating in a highly popular article in Science . This seminal research has been heavily cited in many fields, including statistics, as the definitive research on probability assessment. Curiously, although this work was debated at the time and more recent work has largely refuted many of the claims, this apparent heuristics and biases bias in elicitation research has gone unremarked. Over a decade of research into the frequency effect, the importance of framing, and cognitive models more generally, has been almost completely ignored by the statistical literature on expert elicitation. To remedy this situation, this review offers a guide to the psychological research on assessing probabilities, both old and new, and gives concrete guidelines for eliciting expert knowledge.     

Bivariate distributions with transmuted conditionals: Models and applications

Abstract

The class of transmuted distributions has received a lot of attention in the recent statistical literature. In this paper, we propose a rich family of bivariate distribution whose conditionals are transmuted distributions. The new family of distributions depends on the two baseline distributions and three dependence parameters. Apart from the general properties, we also study the distribution of the concomitance of order statistics. We study specific bivariate models. Estimation methodologies are proposed. A simulation study is conducted. The usefulness of this family is established by fitting well analyzed real life time data.
