真正寻找自己的“现代”之路——从历史平台对中国报告文学写作的回望

百年中国历史就是一部现代性的追寻史.中国报告文学文体从其言说对象及其文体面貌中所折射出来的内涵意蕴,都传达出对以现代性为核心的时代精神的深度整合与互动,凸显中国报告文学文体的前沿性,这体现于形象启蒙与内涵构筑、民族救亡与国家图存两大主题中对现代性的追寻,以及对与悖逆现代性主旨的"野蛮"的追逐、 "灰色"社会风尚、二元结构失衡等社会症状的反思与批判.由此,报告文学成为20世纪中国文坛上引领时代精神气质的主流文体,成为名符其实的体现科学发展观的"时代文体".     

Bent函数估计的可计算达到上界

Bent函数的计数和数目估计问题与依据其设计的流密码的安全性有密切联系。通过将Bent函数表示为定序特征矩阵,引入Bent矩阵的概念;根据Bent函数的定义,得到Bent矩阵的一些性质;利用解决一阶相关免疫布尔函数计数问题的方法,给出Bent函数个数估计的一个基于整数分拆表示的可计算上界,计算实例说明该上界是可达到的上界。     

试论和谐社会的终极意义

社会和谐与和谐社会是两个不同概念。社会和谐可以从政治、经济、文化三个方面来达到,而无论政治和谐、还是经济、文化和谐,都应具有终极指向。在多个体或者多元化的背景下,社会和谐仍然需要主导元素的引领。和谐社会最终可能会背离多元,而向动态的和谐体前进。     

“天地之大德”与“中国本色”的生态文明建设

建设中国特色的生态学马克思主义不仅是马克思主义中国化的需要,也是中国生态文明建设的需要。中国古代号称"群经之首"的《周易》蕴含有非常丰富的盛德价值观思想,倡导以"天地之大德"为核心的盛德价值观,不仅有助于我们克服人类中心主义与生态中心主义的局限,建设中国特色的生态学马克思主义,也有助于我们建设以中国传统文化为根基的"中国本色"的生态文明。

形而上学批判是现代哲学一大潮流,而这一批判的最终旨归是价值批判。具体来讲,形而上学的价值论批判包括两重含义：思维逻辑批判和历史逻辑批判,通过这双重批判,现代哲学实现了哲学理性范式的转换和自身逻辑的跃迁,并完成了一次价值基础的批判与重建。     

A nonparametric coherent confidence procedure

ABSTRACT

Holm's step-down testing procedure starts with the smallest p-value and sequentially screens larger p-values without any information on confidence intervals. This article changes the conventional step-down testing framework by presenting a nonparametric procedure that starts with the largest p-value and sequentially screens smaller p-values in a step-by-step manner to construct a set of simultaneous confidence sets. We use a partitioning approach to prove that the new procedure controls the simultaneous confidence level (thus strongly controlling the familywise error rate). Discernible features of the new stepwise procedure include consistency with individual inference, coherence, and confidence estimations for follow-up investigations. In a simple simulation study, the proposed procedure (treated as a testing procedure), is more powerful than Holm's procedure when the correlation coefficient is large, and vice versa when it is small. In the data analysis of a medical study, the new procedure is able to detect the efficacy of Aspirin as a cardiovascular prophylaxis in a nonparametric setting.     

A stepwise algorithm for selecting category boundaries for the chi-squared goodness-of-fit test

A stepwise algorithm for selecting categories for the chisquared goodness-of-fit test with completely specified continuous null and alternative distributions is described in this paper. The procedure's starting point is an initial partitioning of the sample space into a large number of categories. A second partition with one fewer category is constructed by combining two categories of the original partition. The procedure continues until there are only two categories; the partition in the sequence with the highest estimated power is the one chosen. For illustartive purposes, the performance of the algorithm is evaluated for several hypothesis tests of the from H₀: normal distribution vs. H₁: a specific mixed normal distribution. For each test considered, the partition identified by the algorithm was compared to several equiprobable partitions, including the equiprobable partition with the highest estimated power. In all cases but one, the algorithm identified a parttion with higher estimated power than the best equiprobable partition. Applciations of the procedure are discussed.     

An Empirical Study of Statistical Properties of Variance Partition Coefficients for Multi-Level Logistic Regression Models

Partitioning the variance of a response by design levels is challenging for binomial and other discrete outcomes. Goldstein (2003 Goldstein , H. ( 2003 ). Multilevel Statistical Models. 3rd ed . London : Edward Arnold . [Google Scholar]) proposed four definitions for variance partitioning coefficients (VPC) under a two-level logistic regression model. In this study, we explicitly derived formulae for multi-level logistic regression model and subsequently studied the distributional properties of the calculated VPCs. Using simulations and a vegetation dataset, we demonstrated associations between different VPC definitions, the importance of methods for estimating VPCs (by comparing VPC obtained using Laplace and penalized quasilikehood methods), and bivariate dependence between VPCs calculated at different levels. Such an empirical study lends an immediate support to wider applications of VPC in scientific data analysis.     

Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016: continuities and contestations with special reference to politics in Assam,India

ABSTRACT

This article is an attempt to unpack how the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 that proposed citizenship on the basis of religious affiliation trace its past from narrative rooted in partition and idea of religious identity in determination of citizenship status in India. The act proposes, persons belonging to minority community namely Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Parsi and Christians from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan who have either entered into India without valid travel documents or the validity of their documents have expired are eligible to apply for Indian citizenship by naturalisation in 7 years instead of existing 12 years. Building on existing scholarship, field experience and media reports this article argues proposed citizenship amendment bill that favours citizenship status for persecuted minorities defined primarily as Hindus leaving Muslims is not an attempt to redefine citizenship but reinforce logic that favours narrative of India for Hindus.
