The occurrence of missing data cells precludes a universally correct procedure for performing an analysis of variance. This is illustrated by the use of two computer routines to analyze a 2 × 3 factorial experiment with one missing cell. The two-sample scale problem is studied in the case of unequal and unknown location parameters. The method proposed is based
on the idea of Moses (1963) and it is distribution-free. The two samples are separated into random subgroups of the same sizek. It is proposed to choosek=4 and to apply the Wilconxon test or the Savage test to the ranges or sample variances of the subgroups.
The asymptotic power functions of the tests are compared. For small and moderate sample sizes simulations are carried out.

为提高套管挤毁压力预测精度,应用统计方法对213根套管全尺寸挤毁试验数据进行了方差分析,研究了外径不圆度、壁厚不均度、残余应力等因素对套管抗挤强度的影响。分析结果表明,径厚比、屈服强度是套管抗挤强度的主要因素,不圆度、壁厚不均度、残余应力等因素对套管抗挤强度的影响呈随机性分布。利用有限元方法对外径不圆度、壁厚不均度和残余应力的不同位置组合进行了模拟分析。结果表明,数值相同的外径不圆度、壁厚不均度及平均残余应力组合不同时,套管的挤毁压力相差很大。最后提出了一个套管抗挤强度计算公式,计算简单,精度可满足工程要求。 相似文献

In his recent paper, Ali (1991) has shown that the mixed regression estimator, when data contain mean-shift or variance inflation outliers, is uniformly superior to the ordinary least squares estimator in terms of scalar-valued mean square error. However, when using the matrix-valued mean square error criterion, this dominance fails to hold in general. The subsequent investigation gives a complete characterization of the situation where the mixed estimator is superior to the LS-estimator when the comparison is made with respect to this stronger MSE-property. In this paper we consider the Neyman accuracy and the Wolfowitz accuracy of the Stein type improved confidence interval I?S for the disturbance variance in a linear regression model. The Neyman accuracy is a measure related to the unbiasedness of a confidence interval, and the Wolfowitz accuracy is related to the closeness of the endpoints to the true parameter. We show that I?S is not unbiased and give some numerical results for the Neyman accuracy. As for the Wolfowitz accuracy we derive the sufficient condition for I?S to improve on the usual confidence interval under this criterion and show numerically that a large degree of improvement can be obtainted. 相似文献

This article studies the hypothesis testing and interval estimation for the among-group variance component in unbalanced heteroscedastic one-fold nested design. Based on the concepts of generalized p-value and generalized confidence interval, tests and confidence intervals for the among-group variance component are developed. Furthermore, some simulation results are presented to compare the performance of the proposed approach with those of existing approaches. It is found that the proposed approach and one of the existing approaches can maintain the nominal confidence level across a wide array of scenarios, and therefore are recommended to use in practical problems.
