A universal labeling of a graph G is a labeling of the edge set in G such that in every orientation \(\ell \) of G for every two adjacent vertices v and u, the sum of incoming edges of v and u in the oriented graph are different from each other. The universal labeling number of a graph G is the minimum number k such that G has universal labeling from \(\{1,2,\ldots , k\}\) denoted it by \(\overrightarrow{\chi _{u}}(G) \). We have \(2\Delta (G)-2 \le \overrightarrow{\chi _{u}} (G)\le 2^{\Delta (G)}\), where \(\Delta (G)\) denotes the maximum degree of G. In this work, we offer a provocative question that is: “Is there any polynomial function f such that for every graph G, \(\overrightarrow{\chi _{u}} (G)\le f(\Delta (G))\)?”. Towards this question, we introduce some lower and upper bounds on their parameter of interest. Also, we prove that for every tree T, \(\overrightarrow{\chi _{u}}(T)={\mathcal {O}}(\Delta ^3) \). Next, we show that for a given 3-regular graph G, the universal labeling number of G is 4 if and only if G belongs to Class 1. Therefore, for a given 3-regular graph G, it is an \( {{\mathbf {N}}}{{\mathbf {P}}} \)-complete to determine whether the universal labeling number of G is 4. Finally, using probabilistic methods, we almost confirm a weaker version of the problem.  相似文献

Slack can act as a double‐edged sword. While it can buffer against environmental threats to help ensure business continuity, slack can also be costly and reduce profitability. In this study we focus on operational slack, the form related to the firm's production processes. We investigate the role of operational slack on firm survival during its venture stage when its survival is significantly challenged by environmental threats. Specifically, we explore how change in three types of environmental uncertainty, namely dynamism, complexity, and lack of munificence, affect the relationship between operational slack and venture survival. Results suggest that with an increase in environmental uncertainty, operational slack lowers the likelihood of venture failure.  相似文献

Background

Prevalence of postpartum depression is estimated to be about 10–15% worldwide. Many risk factors are supposed to play a role leading a new mother to maternal postpartum depression which can considerably affect the baby, mother, family and also the society.

Objective

To investigate the prevalence of maternal postpartum depression and its association with social support.

Methods

Using a cross-sectional study, 200 new mothers who attended three teaching hospitals in Tehran, Iran were selected with a convenience sampling. Postpartum depression was assessed using the Iranian version of Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale and women’s levels of social support were measured using the Iranian version of Social Support Questionnaire.

Results

Prevalence of postpartum depression was 43.5% in new mothers. The mean (±Standard Deviation) score of social support network was 2.09 ± 0.99; which is lower in depressed mothers in comparison to non-depressed mothers (1.78 ± 0.87 vs. 2.33 ± 1.00 respectively, P < 0.001). A reverse significant association was found between social support and postpartum depression after adjusting for confounding variables such as past history of depression, illness of baby and medication consumption during pregnancy (Odds Ratio = 0.47, 95% Confidence Interval = 0.33–0.67).

Conclusion

The bigger the social network of a mother, the less postpartum depression occurs. It is suggested to educate the family about the very important role of social support and improve it in every aspect of health care in order to prevent postpartum depression.  相似文献

We propose data generating structures which can be represented as a mixture of autoregressive-autoregressive conditionally heteroscedastic models. The switching between the states is governed by a hidden Markov chain. We investigate semi-parametric estimators for estimating the functions based on the quasi-maximum likelihood approach and provide sufficient conditions for geometric ergodicity of the process. We also present an expectation–maximization algorithm for calculating the estimates numerically.  相似文献

To document the socioeconomic situation of street children in Iran and to ascertain the part played by this in becoming a street child, we classified and evaluated studies on this issue from the recent decade according to their strengths and weaknesses. The results will be helpful in policy‐making and planning for this group. The study employed a systematic review methodology, searching Iranian and international databases, and many universities and related organisations in Iran. After the quality of studies had been evaluated by three researchers, the findings of 40 research studies were classified, described and analysed. The research finds that street children in Iran come from crowded, low‐income families; many of them were rural–urban migrants and Afghans with families who immigrated to Iran; most of their parents had a lower than high school education and many of their fathers were unemployed or had low‐income jobs; the majority of these children were unskilled workers who would work many hours of the day for negligible incomes. We conclude that low socioeconomic status was prevalent among the street children's families in Iran and seems to be an important factor in the street‐connectedness of the children.  相似文献

Supply chain orientation (SCO), or the implementation of a supply chain management philosophy, consists of two distinct, yet interdependent elements, namely strategic SCO and structural SCO. Strategic SCO involves integrating an SCM philosophy into the firm's strategy development, while structural SCO encompasses operational‐level behaviors and actions that reflect such a philosophy. This study extends the research on SCO by developing hypotheses on the contingent effects of strategic SCO and structural SCO on a firm's operational and customer‐focused performance. Drawing on the strategy‐structure‐performance framework, the study proposes that strategic SCO and structural SCO positively affect different dimensions of performance and that structural SCO plays a mediating role in the relationship between strategic SCO and performance. These relationships are tested using primary survey data and archival data from 183 manufacturers in the Midwestern US. Results confirm that strategic SCO is associated with both operational performance and customer‐focused performance, but structural SCO is only related to operational performance. Structural SCO acts as a mediator in linking strategic SCO with operational performance and customer‐focused performance and mediation effects are strengthened at higher levels of environmental dynamism.  相似文献

Is focusing on innovativeness the appropriate organizational response in hostile environments? This study addresses four distinct forms of hostile environments: market decline, restrictiveness, competition, and resource scarcity. The research draws on contingency theory to explain how these forms of hostility affect product innovativeness, process innovativeness, and firm performance. While the extant literature has investigated the effects of hostile environments on performance, little has been done to distinguish between different forms of hostility and, in turn, their potential effect on product and process innovativeness. We argue that investments in product and process innovativeness are either fostered or hindered, contingent on the form of hostile pressures from the external operating environment. These firm responses should in turn suppress the negative effects of hostility on performance. A survey using newly developed measurement scales for hostile environments was used to collect data from 148 small and medium‐sized manufacturing plants. The results provide evidence that generally supports our hypotheses. More specifically, the direct effects of the four forms of hostile environments impact product and process innovativeness differently. Likewise, the suppression and consistent mediation effects of product and process innovativeness differ depending upon the type of hostile environment, suggesting that manufacturers consider applying these capabilities contingent upon the type of hostile climate they face. Therefore, to understand how firms leverage product and process innovativeness, hostile environments are best differentiated into categories rather than being aggregated.  相似文献

Dynamic multi-objective optimization algorithms are used as powerful methods for solving many problems worldwide. Diversity, convergence, and adaptation to environment changes are three of the most important factors that dynamic multi-objective optimization algorithms try to improve. These factors are functions of exploration, exploitation, selection and adaptation operators. Thus, effective operators should be employed to achieve a robust dynamic optimization algorithm. The algorithm presented in this study is known as spread-based dynamic multi-objective algorithm (SBDMOA) that uses bi-directional mutation and convex crossover operators to exploit and explore the search space. The selection operator of the proposed algorithm is inspired by the spread metric to maximize diversity. When the environment changed, the proposed algorithm removes the dominated solutions and mutated all the non-dominated solutions for adaptation to the new environment. Then the selection operator is used to select desirable solutions from the population of non-dominated and mutated solutions. Generational distance, spread, and hypervolume metrics are employed to evaluate the convergence and diversity of solutions. The overall performance of the proposed algorithm is evaluated and investigated on FDA, DMOP, JY, and the heating optimization problem, by comparing it with the DNSGAII, MOEA/D-SV, DBOEA, KPEA, D-MOPSO, KT-DMOEA, Tr-DMOEA and PBDMO algorithms. Empirical results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed algorithm in comparison to other state-of-the-art algorithms.
