当绿色被过份强调,被夸张地运用在未闻未见的奇奇怪怪的地方时,说明人类对于地球的末来已经有些绝望.本来是一抹充满希望的颜色,灵动跳跃,却在这个被末世氛围笼罩、被恶化的污染包围的星球中出现.于是人们兴奋地将它包围,将它刻意描绘,继而软弱无力夸张地歌颂.听见了吗?     

“That's So Gay!”: Examining the Covariates of Hearing This Expression Among Gay,Lesbian, and Bisexual College Students

Abstract

Objective: The investigators examined the health and well-being correlates of hearing the popular phrase “that's so gay” among gay, lesbian, and bisexual (GLB) emerging adults. Participants: Participants were 114 self-identified GLB students aged 18 to 25 years. Methods: An online survey was distributed to students at a large public university in the Midwest during winter 2009. Results: Participants’ social and physical well-being was negatively associated with hearing this phrase, specifically feeling isolated and experiencing physical health symptoms (ie, headaches, poor appetite, or eating problems). Conclusions: College professionals and student leaders must acknowledge that the phrase is a form of heterosexist harassment. As such, policies addressing diversity and harassment should address students’ use of this phrase, aiming to reduce its use. Additionally, colleges and universities should develop practices that counteract poorer well-being associated with hearing the phrase.

相较于其他定位,孙逊更像是一位雕刻家,钟情于略显压抑沉重的"历史",用浓重而清晰的笔墨雕刻出时间呈现的政治、文化、行为思想.那些作品常常开始于一片混沌的黑色之中,寂静,充满了不可知与疑问,甚至有一些焦虑.看上去或许有些怪诞,却能在个人的敏感认知里极大化地被解读和领略,因为它们渐渐有了白色,有了光亮,也有了可以寻觅的线索. 不同于80后普通年轻人的活泼朝气,每次见到孙逊,他几乎都是不苟言笑.留着平头,衣着朴素,说起创作动机和意义阐释,他会静静地思考,更添几分严肃深刻.出生于煤炭重工业城市阜新,孙逊的作品也有天生的冷峻,常常由大面积的黑色、白色色块堆叠、交织、碰撞,材料运用相当丰富:木刻、色粉、水墨、甚至金属的再加工,有些魔幻现实主义的味道,为观者带来强烈的视觉冲击.由于作品《21克》入围第67届威尼斯电影节地平线竞赛单元,他成为第一部入围威尼斯电影节的中国动画导演;此后,柏林电影节向他抛来橄榄枝,这位年青的艺术家渐渐被我们熟知.在3月7日归国的第一天,他开始了新的挑战:《平行的世界:孙逊个展》.     

“A Give Grief Kind of Guy”: Help‐Seeking,Status, and the Experience of Helpers at a University IT Help Desk

Returning the helper to studies of help‐seeking highlights how organizational status is interactionally (re)produced. Using interview and ethnographic data of IT support workers in a medical school, I illuminate how organizational status hierarchies develop independently of organizational rank or authority. Status both structures and is (re)produced through requestors' enactment of deference and/or face‐threatening acts; backstage interpretive processes among helpers naturalize and legitimate status‐based interaction styles. High‐status requestors' failure to protect helpers' face does not flow naturally from organizational status but is the result of active meaning‐making processes with meso‐level implications.     

‘Show us your frilly,pink underbelly’: Men administrative assistants doing masculinities and femininity

Research on men tokens (or numerical minorities) at work has focused on the processes by which men try to claim hegemonic masculine identities for themselves and how workplace interactants support or reject these attempts. In contrast to masculinity studies, token theory has paid less attention to non‐hegemonic masculinities. Using interviews with men administrative assistants, I develop a more comprehensive understanding of men tokens' gender performances and their significance for gender inequality. I present a four‐part typology: hegemonic masculinity, alternative masculinity, critical masculinity and male femininity. The categories are differentiated along two axes: support for hegemonic masculinity and support for hierarchical, binary gender.
