In this paper a Bayesian model is developed for comparing two binomial proportions. A two stage hierarchical prior distribution is used to represent prior dependence. Prior exchangeability and independence are shown to be but special cases. The relevant distributions have to be computed numerically and some examples are presented. 相似文献

《Journal of statistical planning and inference》1994,40(2-3):357-373Robust Bayesian testing of point null hypotheses is considered for problems involving the presence of nuisance parameters. The robust Bayesian approach seeks answers that hold for a range of prior distributions. Three techniques for handling the nuisance parameter are studied and compared. They are (i) utilize a noninformative prior to integrate out the nuisance parameter; (ii) utilize a test statistic whose distribution does not depend on the nuisance parameter; and (iii) use a class of prior distributions for the nuisance parameter. These approaches are studied in two examples, the univariate normal model with unknown mean and variance, and a multivariate normal example. 相似文献

Bradley (Theory Decis 85:5–20, 2018) develops some theory of the linear opinion pool, in apparent contradiction to results of Dawid et al. (Test 4:263–314, 1995). We investigate the sources of these contradictions, and in particular identify a mathematical error in Bradley (2018) that invalidates his main result.
