"荒野"概念不仅在哲学争论而且在大众文化中均扮演了重要角色。野性大自然常常被视为一个人们遭遇意想不到事件的超文化领域的地方。一些作家和电影制作者通过叙述表现自然另一种荒芜景象的故事,从而反对将野性大自然罗曼蒂克化的主流观点。当遭遇到野性和蛮横,人们有时会在井然有序、人类中心和自我创造的世界图景同另外一种诚如普兰武德所说的"界外风景"的另外一种自然之间,感到不自在。《杰瑞》、《荒野生存》、《灰熊人》这三部电影所讲述的都是现代人遭遇野性的故事。这些作品都有这样一个共同主题:现代人总是被野性大自然吸引并试图探寻由于受到整个现代文明社会生活(精神)的限制,而无法获得的未知经验。而另一个相关主题则涉及,任何一种理想化的荒野概念本身就存在着深刻的问题。这三部电影都有吸引着现代观众的不幸结局。首先,这些电影都将荒野作为一种反对整个文明世界的力量;其次,对荒野着迷本身具有彻底的反身性,表明荒野包含着既自相矛盾又非常隐晦的道德意义。  相似文献

Preserving the autonomy of individuals with intellectual disabilities in group work is challenging. Group workers often experience inadequate guidance about autonomy—an individual's capability to act independently without influence by others. Group workers can enhance autonomy through group activities that promote self-efficacy, empowerment, and the ability to make decisions. Fostering autonomy requires that the group workers be knowledgeable and aware of personal biases, analyzing their expectations and actions. To promote the autonomy of persons with intellectual disabilities in group work practice, the authors make recommendations to strengthen the IASWG Standards for Social Work Practice with Groups in this area.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

How to theorize the nation’s Janus-like form, its simultaneous modernity and antiquity? This paper provides an original answer to this longstanding question. It argues that nations arise from the interaction of ‘societal multiplicity’ and the expansionist tendency of historical capitalism. The emergence of capitalism super-adds a modern inflection to the inherently relational process of collective identity formation by generating modern sovereignty as an abstract form of rule. Crucially however, just like its emergence, capitalism’s expansion also refracts through societal multiplicity. Non-capitalist societies are therefore pressured into ‘nationalist’ projects of emulative self-preservation in which the nation’s political form (i.e. the sovereign state) is forged before its sociological content (i.e. primitive accumulation). Thus, the original site of this process, France, produced the modular nation-form that unlike Britain’s imperial nationhood could be globalized. The paper therefore shows that IR’s premise of multiplicity may be the key to one of social sciences’ most enduring puzzles.  相似文献

The axiom of weak disposability is frequently imposed in data envelopment analysis (DEA) models involving undesirable outputs such as pollution. This paper sheds new light on the economic interpretation of weak disposability by developing dual formulations of the weakly disposable DEA technology. We find that the economic implications of weak disposability on the multiplier DEA problem are two-fold: (1) the shadow prices of the undesirable outputs can be positive or negative, and (2) the economic loss of the benchmark cannot exceed the suck cost of the inputs. We interpret the second implications as a limited liability condition. The dual formulations developed in this paper enable one to estimate shadow prices of the undesirable outputs using the weakly disposable technology. The insights gained are illustrated by a numerical example and an empirical application to the US power plants.  相似文献

Existing accounts of the Islamic State (IS) tend to rely on orientalist and technicist assumptions and hence insufficiently sensitive to the historical, sociological, and international conditions of the possibility of IS. The present article provides an alternative account through a conjunctural analysis that is anchored in an international historical sociology of modern Iraq informed by Leon Trotsky's idea of ‘uneven and combined development’. It foregrounds the concatenation of Iraq's contradictory (post-)colonial nation-state formation with the neoliberal conjuncture of 1990-2014. It shows that the former process involved the tension-prone fusion of governing institutions of the modern state and the intermittent but steady reproduction, valorization, and politicization of supra-national (religious-sectarian) and sub-national (ethno-tribal) collective identities, which subverted the emergence of an Iraqi nation. The international sanctions regime of the 1990s transformed sectarian and tribal difference into communitarian tension by fatally undermining the integrative efficacy of the Ba’ath party's authoritarian welfare-state. Concurrently, the neo-liberal demolition of the post-colonial authoritarian welfare states in the region gave rise to the Arab Spring revolutions. The Arab Spring however elicited a successful authoritarian counter-revolution that eliminated secular-nationalist forms of oppositional politics. This illiberal neoliberalisation of the region's political economy valorised the religionisation of the domestic effects of the 2003 US-led destruction of the Iraqi state and its reconstruction on a majoritarian basis favouring the Shi’as and hence transforming sectarian tension into sectarian conflict culminating in IS. Thus, IS is, the paper demonstrates, the result of neither an internal cultural pathology nor sheerly external forces. Rather, it is the novel product of an utterly historical congealment of the intrinsically interactive and multilinear dynamics of socio-political change.  相似文献

Kuosmanen and Kazemi Matin [Theory of integer valued data envelopment analysis. European Journal of Operational Research 2009;192:658–67] developed an axiomatic foundation for a data envelopment analysis (DEA) model that assumes subsets of input and output variables to be integer valued. In this paper we extend and generalize the axiomatic foundation for the integer DEA under variable, non-decreasing and non-increasing returns to scale. These model variants are achieved by introducing new axioms of natural convexity and natural augmentability. We also develop mixed integer linear programming (MILP) formulations for computing efficiency scores in these environments. An empirical example illustrates the approach.  相似文献
