Proverbs are an important part of language and culture in a society.The appropriate use of which is a mark of a language learner's command of the language.This paper analyses the social characteristics of English proverbs based on sociolinguistics and illustrates these features from four main factors concerning nature,men,culture and customs so as to enhance language learners' awareness to comprehend and utilize proverbs in the light of these social characteristics in a precise and accurate way. 相似文献
