Spatio‐temporal modelling is an increasingly popular topic in Statistics. Our paper contributes to this line of research by developing the theory, simulation and inference for a spatio‐temporal Ornstein–Uhlenbeck process. We conduct detailed simulation studies and demonstrate the practical relevance of these processes in an empirical study of radiation anomaly data. Finally, we describe how predictions can be carried out in the Gaussian setting.  相似文献

Human longevity is a complex phenotype with a strong genetic contribution. The search for allelic variation that impacts on longevity often involves population-based association studies of long-lived individuals (centenarians and nonagenarians) and younger controls. A major methodological problem with this approach is that the cases and controls in these experiments are often born several generations apart. The inherent absence of "age matching" can lead to serious misinterpretations. For example, allele frequency differences between long-lived individuals and younger controls may not reflect an effect on longevity but rather a change in population structure over time or different gene-environment interactions across generations.  相似文献

The development of health and social competence in networks of hospitals as an innovative and integrated component of the working process The development of health and social competence in networks of hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, geriatric care centres and ambulatory services both within the oganization and overlapping is located in the centre of the project. The main topic is: Is the development of networks able to support the process of the health management and the professional development of the staff and the organization? Substantial components and contents of the health management are the development of health-, social and ergonomic authority. Studies on work and organizations state that traditional gendered cultures support hegemonic masculinity and obstruct an engaged form of ‘new’ fathering. Not only do employers hinder fathers in sharing equally in childcare, but the dynamics within the couple also matter. An examination of the negotiations within couples regarding paid and unpaid work reveals the need to revise conceptualizations of masculinity, with a focus on undoing masculinity. Based on in‐depth interviews with couples in Germany, I argue that social change at the interactional level encompasses at least the possibility that gender, as a resource of the differentiation and hierarchization of masculinities and femininities within the realm of paid and unpaid labour, can be fragile or can even be episodically undone. Hence, more empirical and theoretical work within and beyond the context of fathering is crucial to further theoretical approaches to undoing masculinity.  相似文献

By examining the specific example of Algerian migrant workers it is possible to gain insight into the living conditions of foreign workers in the GDR. Although the Algerians received professional educational training, they were relegated to unattractive jobs. Making up only a small percentage of the entire population, they aroused considerable curiosity among Germans and were subject to reduced social control by their own compatriots. Three concepts are crucial for understanding the specific situation. First, there was a status inconsistency of Algerian migrants. While their professional status was low, their western attributes brought them high prestige in their leisure time. Secondly, most of them lived a late adolescence in which alcohol and erotic relations were of particular importance. Thirdly, protests against living conditions were achieved through traditional solidarity, means of the labour movement and the creative use of western attributes. This article calls into question three general assumptions of the sociology of migrations. The Algerians did not migrate for their families but profited from the absence of family responsibilities. They did not consider themselves objects of racism, but made instead use of legitimate, physical violence. It was their private leisure time relations rather than their occupational contacts which facilitated their integration.  相似文献

The pan-European "Genetics of Healthy Aging" (GEHA) consortium is undertaking a large study of long-lived individuals, which officially began on 22 May 2004. The consortium aims to identify genes that promote longevity and good health during the process of aging. Women and mediaWomen in the past decades established themselves like in all public fields also in the field of journalisme and media, including leading positions. The larger presence of women as editors, however, not visibly changed the reporting regarding gender-democratic aspects. We cannot state that traditional role assignments were lastingly overcome. With supervision and coaching of media professionals there seems to be a need of a very specific consulting for women. A need of consultation, which might still require a deeper and a more realistic view of the world, a changed perspective regarding women and men in the society. This does not happen automatically, on instruction or by political correctness. To develop this changed perspective and represent it in public, is obviously not easier to women than to men. A way to learn it would be to conceive journalistic and editorial quality under the criterion of gender democracy and diversity.  相似文献
