Randomized response models deal with stigmatizing variables appearing in health surveys. Additive and subtractive scrambling in split sample and double response yield unbiased mean and sensitivity estimators of high precision. The split sample method is protective of privacy. The double response method is as protective only conditionally. To achieve the maximum efficiency, the scrambling variables must be similar to each other and the probability of obtaining a true response must be as large as possible. The randomized response procedures yield more efficient estimates of the average total number of classes missed by university students. 相似文献

In this article, an interesting improvement of some recent randomized response techniques has been proposed. The proposed randomized response technique applies Negative Binomial distribution to obtain data from respondents. An unbiased estimator of proportion of a sensitive attribute has been suggested and it is shown, numerically, that the new estimator performs better than the recent estimators while doing a sensitive survey. It is also established that the proposed estimator is unconditionally better than that of the estimator based on using the geometric distribution. 相似文献

AbstractThis article focuses on reducing the additional variance due to randomization of the responses. The idea of additive scrambling and its inverse has been used along with (i) split sample approach and (ii) double response approach. Specifically, our proposal is based on Gupta et al. (2006) randomized response model. We selected this model for improvement because it provides estimator of mean and sensitivity level of a sensitive variable and is better than all of its competitors proposed earlier to it and even Gupta et al. (2006) sensitivity estimator is better than that of Gupta et al. (2010). Our suggested estimators are unbiased estimators and perform better than Gupta et al. (2006) estimator. The issue of privacy protection is also discussed. 相似文献

In this paper we introduce an extension of the Lindley distribution which offers a more flexible model for lifetime data. Several statistical properties of the distribution are explored, such as the density, (reversed) failure rate, (reversed) mean residual lifetime, moments, order statistics, Bonferroni and Lorenz curves. Estimation using the maximum likelihood and inference of a random sample from the distribution are investigated. A real data application illustrates the performance of the distribution. 相似文献

The paper deals with life distributions which are harmonic new better than renewal used in expectation (HNBRUE). The goal is to derive moment inequalities and use them for further analysis of the class HNBRUE. We establish new characterization of exponentiality versus HNBRUE. Pitman’s asymptotic relative efficiency is employed to assess the performance of the proposed test with respect to other available tests. Finally, we carried out numerical simulation to produce table for the critical values of the test. 相似文献
