Fixed sample size approximately similar tests for the Behrens-Fisher problem are studied and compared with various other tests suggested in current sttistical methodelogy texts. The coefficient of variation (CV) control chart has recently been introduced in the literature. Here, the salient features of this chart and the conforming run length chart are integrated to produce a synthetic coefficient of variation (SynCV) chart. The run length profile of the SynCV chart is numerically compared with the originally proposed chart and the upward EWMA-γ2 chart. The SynCV chart outperforms the original CV chart, while the EWMA-γ2 outperforms the SynCV chart for small increases in the CV. However, for large increases in the CV, the SynCV chart outperforms the EWMA-γ2 chart. 相似文献

May nonidentity error correlation patterns encountered in regression theory allow computationally efficient techniques for modifying the usual procedures for constructing confidence intervals and performing F-tests so that valid inferences can be drawn. The theory of corrected F-tests in the general linear modeL with correlated errors is studied in this paper. Strictly unbiased F-tests are constructed in the presence of a large class of known non-identity correlation structures. These are generalized likelihood ratio tests which are easily computed. This paper introduces a new biostatistical approach to the problems of estimating true values and approximating the distribution of true values from unreliable data.We present the basic rationale for the unmixing method and report on a simulation study of its properties in estimating the centiles of a skewed, outlier-prone class of distributions.We also present an application to highly skewed USDA vitamin A intake data, and a pseudo-code version of the unmixing algorithm that we hope will allow other researchers to experiment with it 相似文献
