试论德育在培养创新型研究生中的重要作用

在培养创新型人才为目的的研究生教育中,研究生德育是研究生教育的基本内容。从创新型研究生的素质结构出发,指出德育有助于提升研究生的创新人格、创新意识和创新能力,提出了加强研究生创新德育理念、明确了研究生德育定位以及加强研究生自我教育的对策与措施。     

Procedures for improving the mle for ordered binomial parameters

The problem is that of estimating the probabilities of m independent binomial random variables when their probabilities are known to be nondecreasing and the loss function is squared error. In the cases where the m.l.e. is inadmissible (essentially when the total number of trials is 7 or more) we present a method for modifying the m.l.e. to get a better estimator. The method requires a series of changes. At each step we alter the action taken by the m.l.e. on each of three, appropriately chosen, points in the sample space.

Adaptive and repeated cumulative meta‐analyses of safety data during a new drug development process

During a new drug development process, it is desirable to timely detect potential safety signals. For this purpose, repeated meta‐analyses may be performed sequentially on accumulating safety data. Moreover, if the amount of safety data from the originally planned program is not enough to ensure adequate power to test a specific hypothesis (e.g., the noninferiority hypothesis of an event of interest), the total sample size may be increased by adding new studies to the program. Without appropriate adjustment, it is well known that the type I error rate will be inflated because of repeated analyses and sample size adjustment. In this paper, we discuss potential issues associated with adaptive and repeated cumulative meta‐analyses of safety data conducted during a drug development process. We consider both frequentist and Bayesian approaches. A new drug development example is used to demonstrate the application of the methods. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.     

Testing hypotheses about the common mean of normal distributions

An overview of hypothesis testing for the common mean of independent normal distributions is given. The case of two populations is studied in detail. A number of different types of tests are studied. Among them are a test based on the maximum of the two available t-tests, Fisher's combined test, a test based on Graybill–Deal's estimator, an approximation to the likelihood ratio test, and some tests derived using some Bayesian considerations for improper priors along with intuitive considerations. Based on some theoretical findings and mostly based on a Monte Carlo study the conclusions are that for the most part the Bayes-intuitive type tests are superior and can be recommended. When the variances of the populations are close the approximate likelihood ratio test does best.

Tests for the umbrella alternative under normality

Consider a one-way layout of the analysis of variance assuming independence, normality, and homogeneity of variance. Test the null hypothesis H_o that the means, j., of each of Amp; columns, i = 1,…, k are equal versus the alternative that they follow an umbrella pattern. That is, the alternative is H₁-H₀ where H₁: μ₁> μ₂>… > μk, and m is known. We derive a class of tests which are unbiased and lie in a nontrivial complete class. We recommend specific tests within the class. A simulation of the power functions of some tests is contrasted with the simulated power function of the likelihood ratio test.
