Social work education has been greatly affected by ongoing technological advances in society at large and in the academy. Options for instructional delivery have been broadened tremendously. The University of Louisville is the first in Kentucky to put its master’s of social work degree fully online, with a first cohort admitted in 2012. The purpose of this article is to provide a model of program development for those social work programs that are considering whether or not to create an online program. The authors explain the process and considerations that went into exploring the online program that was eventually developed and offered by the Raymond A. Kent School of Social Work and conclude with implications for social work practice and education. 相似文献

This explorative study conducted with 40 senior managers of a Scandinavian and a German aviation company records the expectations and attitudes concerning company-wide workplace health promotion. Based on a social-cognitive process model of health behavior, specific areas of interest were differentiated, including assessment and relevance of the company health situation, health-related measures considered to be effective, expectations about their feasibility in the own company, and finally the intentions to support and initiate implementation of measures of workplace health promotion. 相似文献

Dimensions of Parenting Associated with Child Prekindergarten Emotion Regulation and Attention Control in Low‐income Families

Delays in emotion regulation and attention control are common among children growing up in poverty, and they contribute to significant socioeconomic gaps in school readiness and later school attainment. In this study, the emotion regulation and attention control skills of 210 prekindergarten Head Start participants were assessed (M age = 4.80 years old). Home interviews and videotaped parent–child interactions were used to evaluate three aspects of parenting (e.g., warm‐sensitive, directive‐critical, and parenting stress). Structural equation models documented significant, unique associations linking directive‐critical parenting and parenting stress with poor child emotion regulation skills. Directive‐critical parenting was also uniquely associated with low levels of child attention control. Warm‐sensitive parenting was not uniquely related to either emotion regulation or attention control at this age. The findings suggest that, by prekindergarten, parent stress management and reduced directiveness emerge as the primary correlates of child emotion regulation and attention control whereas warm‐sensitive parenting plays a diminished role. 相似文献

This paper exploits a combination of policy variation from multiple pension reforms in Austria and administrative data from the Austrian Social Security Database. Using the policy changes for identification, we estimate social security wealth and accrual elasticities in individuals' retirement decisions. Next, we use these elasticities to estimate a dynamic programming model of retirement decisions. Finally, we use the estimated model to examine the labor supply and welfare consequences of potential social security reforms. (JEL J26, H55) 相似文献

We study a situation where a decision maker relies on the report of a self-interested and informed expert prior to decide
whether to undertake a certain project. An important feature in this interaction is that, depending on the collected information,
the two agents have potentially conflicting preferences. Information contained in the report is partially verifiable in the
sense that the expert can suppress favorable information sustaining the project but he cannot exaggerate it. Our results show
that this setting favors the agent which is the less eager to undertake the project in that he always succeeds to induce his
most preferred action.

In this article, two modes of non-binding communication between an expert and a decision-maker are compared. They are distinguished
mainly by the nature of the information transmitted by the expert. In the first one, the expert reports only his opinion (soft
information) concerning the desirability of a certain action, whereas in the second one, he is consulted to provide evidence
(hard information) to convince the decision-maker. The expert’s ability to provide evidence increases with the precision of
his information. The article shows that requiring evidence is always beneficial to the decision-maker whereas it is beneficial
to the expert, if and only if the preferences of both agents are different enough. 相似文献
