As the business role of health care delivery expands and complex reform is imposed, physicians must assume leadership roles and imprint medical expertise on business dynamics. Before the end of this century, health care and its delivery will likely become unrecognizable to those who ended their practices only a decade ago. Traditional management will wither away to be replaced by self-managed, self-trained, and self-motivated workers, no longer employed in jobs but working through processes, projects, and assignments in integrative health care delivery systems. Becoming a leader is an active and arduous process that can no longer be approached haphazardly. To be effective, the physician must plot a course with clear and calculated intent and effort, which requires acquiring organizational tools and administrative skills to innovatively alter medical care for the good of all.  相似文献

This research investigates the extent to which indices of social justice and democratic rights are expressed in Israel in the crucial national English matriculation exam, as perceived by Palestinian Arab high school pupils studying for these exams and their English teachers. The research employed Critical Theory as a paradigm, case study as a research tradition, and semi-structured interviews and questionnaires as methods. Shohamy’s Democratic Assessment Model provided the basis for the questionnaire items and the interview questions. Freire’s Critical Pedagogy framework was consulted to interpret the findings of the research. The factual findings revealed a proper application of democratic principles in the environment of the national English as a Foreign Language (EFL) testing, yet only with regard to technical matters, while the environment appears to be undemocratic with regard to other essential and critical issues. The conceptual conclusions suggest that when democracy is bent by the governing authority and shaped to serve its interests, it is not only minorities’ education that is affected, but also the education of the majority, and that democracy itself needs to be aided by civil society to ensure a more egalitarian educational reality for all.  相似文献

We propose a new statistic for testing linear hypotheses in the non parametric regression model in the case of a homoscedastic error structure and fixed design. In contrast to most models suggested in the literature, our procedure is applicable in the non parametric model case without regularity condition, and also under either the null or the alternative hypotheses. We show the asymptotic normality of the test statistic under the null hypothesis and the alternative one. A simulation study is conducted to investigate the finite sample properties of the test with application to regime switching.  相似文献

This study examines the comparative probabilities of making a correct selection when using the means procedure (M), the medians procedure (D) and the rank-sum procedure (S) to correctly select the normal population with the largest mean under heterogeneity of variance. The comparison is conducted by using Monte-Carlo simulation techniques for 3, 4, and 5 normal populations under the condition that equal sample sizes are taken from each population. The population means and standard deviations are assumed to be equally-spaced. Two types of heterogeneity of variance are considered: (1) associating larger means with larger variances, and (2) associating larger means with smaller variances.  相似文献
