冷战后的中美政治安全关系

冷战结束十年以来 ,美国的对华政策依然摇摆不定。之所以如此 ,是因为十年来美国视中国为敌还是为友 ,或者非敌非友 ,至今还未定性。而美国难于在其国际政治安全战略中给中国定性的原因 ,则与以下的三个层次密切相关 ,即美国的国内政治层次、中美关系的发展层次和全球层次。     

苏北“三农”问题的现状分析与研究

从江苏省“两个率先”目标的高度,就江苏苏北地区的“三农”问题进行分析,指出能否解决苏北“三农”问题已是影响江苏实现“两个率先”目标的关键,进而提出了解决苏北“三农”问题应从转变观念、提高农民国民待遇、加强农村基础设施建设和加快农村经济结构调整,以及加快苏北城市化建设,促进农村劳动力转移和控制人口增长,开发苏北农村的人力资源着手。     

湖南“二王”与近代湖南书院改制

王闿运与王先谦在近代史上并称湖南“二王,”他们都与湖南书院改制有非常密切的关系。王闿运不认同西式学堂教育,主张在传统书院教育体制之内改善书院教育,船山书院在其主掌之下至1915年方改为学堂;王先谦接受了西式学堂体制,但其坚守学堂不能离“道”而行,在湖南书院改制中呈现出双重趋向。“二王”与湖南书院改制的关系,透射出传统型知识分子在晚清变局中的复杂心态。     

‘The Rule of Men Entirely Great’: Republicanism,Ritual, and Richelieu in Melville’s ‘The Two Temples’

Abstract

This article explores the complex and multifarious reasons behind Herman Melville’s decision to refer to the English playwright Edward Bulwer-Lytton’s 1839 work Richelieu, or The Conspiracy in his 1854 diptych ‘The Two Temples’. It responds to a critical consensus that has seen the reference merely as a sarcastic attack on William Macready (whose rivalry with the American actor Edwin Forrest was the nominal cause of the bloody 1849 Astor Place Riot in New York), by contextualizing the play within traditions of antebellum American Anglophilia. By using a combination of new critical work on Anglo-Americanism and anthropological ritual theory, I show how Bulwer-Lytton’s play was significant to Melville’s artistic development. In particular, I demonstrate how the play influenced his increasing engagement with republican and theatrical forms of expression that emphasized the importance of filial relationships between America and Britain in a period of increasing hostility between the two nations.

金代桑税渊源于辽和北宋的桑税制度.金代在继承辽宋桑税制度的同时,也进一步发展了自己的桑税制度.这表现为:一方面金代两税中的全部税绢都依据桑税征收,从而提高了它在两税中的地位;另一方面金代确立了旨在规定民户最低桑税额的桑地制度.金代桑税并非"户调",而是金代土地税的基本内容,也是金代两税的重要组成部分.

"A 20% income increase for everyone?": The effect of relative increases in income on perceived income inequality

Most research on income inequality implicitly assumes that a fixed percentage increase in income across all income levels does not alter income inequality. In contrast with this assumption, we show that relative increases in income lead to increased perceptions of inequality, even when buying power is held constant. In a second experiment, we extended these findings using a fictitious currency, thereby eliminating effects of using a familiar currency. In study 3, we demonstrate that feelings of envy and fairness are affected by a fixed percentage income increase.     

A new nonparametric bivariate test for two sample location problem

A strictly nonparametric bivariate test for two sample location problem is proposed. The proposed test is easy to apply and does not require the stringent condition of affine-symmetry or elliptical symmetry which is required by some of the major tests available for the same problem. The power function of the proposed test is calculated. The asymptotic distribution of the proposed test statistic is found to be normal. The power of proposed test is compared with some of the well-known tests under various distributions using Monte Carlo simulation technique. The power study shows that the proposed test statistic performs better than most of the test statistics for almost all the distributions considered here. As soon as the underlying population structure deviates from normality, the ability of the proposed test statistic to detect the smallest shift in location increases as compared to its competitors. The application of the test is shown by using a data set.     

“史学二陈”及其学术精神

陈垣和陈寅恪合称“史学二陈”.这一称谓产生于1950年代初.而“二陈”现象形成于20世纪二三十年代.“二陈”在学术上均重视目录学、年代学,善以文字学治史,均在宗教史、蒙元史、明清史方面有重要建树,不仅在史学研究方面有诸多相同点,又相互交流,商榷学术,彼此影响.晚年在政治思想上虽有异趣,但在学术上追求“实事求是”的目标是一致的,殊途同归.“史学二陈”是20世纪中国学术史上最具魅力的现象之一,宜用学术眼光解读这一现象.

同样是对于建国后中国农村生活的表现,同样是陕西本土作家,但柳青的《创业史》却与杨争光的《从两个蛋开始》有着明显的区别:《创业史》的根本特征是日常生活的政治化,而《从两个蛋开始》的根本特征却是政治的日常生活化。
