Sampling Returns for Realized Variance Calculations: Tick Time or Transaction Time?

This article introduces a new model for transaction prices in the presence of market microstructure noise in order to study the properties of the price process on two different time scales, namely, transaction time where prices are sampled with every transaction and tick time where prices are sampled with every price change. Both sampling schemes have been used in the literature on realized variance, but a formal investigation into their properties has been lacking. Our empirical and theoretical results indicate that the return dynamics in transaction time are very different from those in tick time and the choice of sampling scheme can therefore have an important impact on the properties of realized variance. For RV we find that tick time sampling is superior to transaction time sampling in terms of mean-squared-error, especially when the level of noise, number of ticks, or the arrival frequency of efficient price moves is low. Importantly, we show that while the microstructure noise may appear close to IID in transaction time, in tick time it is highly dependent. As a result, bias correction procedures that rely on the noise being independent, can fail in tick time and are better implemented in transaction time.

《正红旗下》民俗文化论

《正红旗下》是老舍先生直接描写满族生活的作品,其满族民俗文化得到了充分的展示。其中,语言习俗方面的满语遗存,北京话的运用,与骑射习俗有关的八旗制度,辫子、旗袍等服饰习俗,以及日常生活中的称谓、礼仪、育儿等方面的习俗,尤为突出。这部自传体长篇小说是老舍先生的代表作之一。作品不但记录了他早年的生活,更倾注了他对自己民族的全部热情。     

从纯文学到大文学

艺术和文学分别借用不同的情感符号体系,来展示人类在不同世代的情感本真存在,当代大众文化语境之下文学形态发生了变化,但是文学依然新鲜活泼地存在着。纯文学作为一种历史性的文化现象在当代逐渐被颠覆和消解,并不能说明文学行将消亡。从纯文学到大文学正是人类学意义上文学精神的自我回归,中国未来的大文学必然会在民族集体记忆的基础上接受外来文化以及不同世代生活经验的刺激,发生微妙的变化。但无论怎么变化、演绎,也无论它是出自精英文学作家之手,还是出自草根民众之手,只要它自由地、自然地、本能地、本真地敞开了斯时斯地的情感(性情),那么,它都是既有中国品位又有时代气象,且与其他民族文学相互情意沟通无碍的中国大文学——多元共存的人类大文学生命实体中必要的生命元素之一。     

黑水城出土西夏文《西方净土十疑论》略注本考释

本文刊布了俄藏黑水城出土西夏文《西方净土十疑论》略注本的录文,指出此本是根据宋沙门澄或《净土十疑论注》翻译而成,并依照汉文本,对西夏文本进行了翻译和注释,目的是为西夏学界研读西夏语文以及佛学界研究净土宗在10-4世纪的传播提供参考。     

Is a pure jump process fitting the high frequency data better than a jump-diffusion process?

Two families of processes: pure jump processes and jump-diffusion processes are widely used in literatures. Recently, empirical findings demonstrate that the underlying processes of high frequency data sets are pure-jump processes of infinite variation in many situations. Statistical tests are also proposed to make the empirical findings theoretically grounded. In this paper, we extend the work of Jing et al. (2012) in two aspects: (1) the jump process in the null hypothesis and the alternative hypothesis could be different; (2) the null hypothesis covers more flexible processes which are more relevant in finance when considering models for asset prices or nominal interest rates. Theoretically, the test is proven to be very powerful and can control the type I error probabilities well under the nominal level.     

书面"清谈"——谢灵运山水诗之本质论

谢灵运的山水诗是谢氏家族清谈的书面体现,谢氏清谈特点主要体现在:一是把清谈的务虚之风与务实抒怀有机结合,二是在清谈中重视语言的辞彩,注意语言音韵的流畅谐美。在家风濡染下,谢灵运抛弃了纯粹的空谈析理,而是借助于山水形象媚道,从而导致富有理趣、注重辞彩的山水诗的涌现,无心插柳般地完成了中国诗歌史的转关任务。     

弥陀净土理念:净土宗与其他重要宗派终极信仰的共同基础

净土思想是两千年来中国佛教信仰者的基本旨趣。净土宗思想的基本特质是极乐往生和念佛往生,即以较小的心力(念诵南无阿弥陀佛)而得到极大的收获(进入西方极乐世界),符合行为学的基本要求,以致阿弥陀佛成为中国佛教信徒的普遍的崇拜对象,成为包括后来禅宗在内的中国佛教重要宗派的共同的终极信仰。这从宗教学说体系构成的视角来说,也决不是偶然的。     

利科论康德的时间观--试述《时间与叙事》对《纯粹理性批判》的解读

利科在《时间与叙事》中为建构其叙事时间理论而对康德的时间观作了批判性解读。利科通过深入考察《纯粹理性批判》,首先阐明了康德之“不可见的时间”是一种关于经验对象的先决(先天)条件,标明“时间”在康德那里开始了“本体”化的积极尝试;其次指出了康德的时间观所面临的理论疑难;最后还讨论到了康德的时间观与前康德哲学时间观的渊源关系。利科的上述“解读”充分彰显出康德时间观建构在西方哲学之时间性问题探讨上的特殊理论贡献。
