The Career Decision‐Making Difficulties Questionnaire: A Case for Item‐Level Interpretation

The Career Decision‐Making Difficulties Questionnaire (CDDQ; Gati, Krausz, & Osipow, 1996) has long been demonstrated as a useful instrument for career counseling practice. Several case studies have demonstrated how and why using the CDDQ facilitates the career counseling process (e.g., Amir, Gati, & Kleiman, 2008; Gati & Levin, 2014; Levin & Gati, 2014). This study explores how an in‐depth analysis of a case study conducted at the item level can provide career counselors with a richer understanding of their clients’ needs. The case study also emphasizes how administering and providing feedback on the CDDQ in career counseling sessions is likely to foster working alliances. The study concludes by presenting an intervention map based on the CDDQ taxonomy.     

我国乡镇政府改革的方向、困境与着力点

后农业税时代,我国乡镇政府改革势在必行。不过,改革究竟走向何方,学界分歧颇大,大致提出了乡镇政府改革的两种思路：“强化论”和“取消论”。但当前我国乡镇政府改革的“强化论”扣“取消论”都没有实践根基,可行的路径应该是立足于现实困境分析,渐进式地构建有效供给农村基本公共品的服务型乡镇政府。     

农民脱贫进程中面临的困境及路径重塑--以连片贫困地区甘肃定西为例

解决中国西部连片贫困地区甘肃定西农民的脱贫问题,对于实现我国经济社会全面协调发展,构建社会主义和谐社会均具有重大意义。然而,绝对贫困人口数量多,农业产业化水平低,贫困分布面广且地域差异大,农民文化、技能素质底下等制约定西农民脱贫的因素并没有彻底消除,农民脱贫面临着诸多困难。因此,本文在实地调查和文献分析的基础上,针对以往政府主导下的输血式脱贫模式的弊端,从发展区域经济,建立政府主导和市场运行有机结合的反贫困机制,发挥党的领导与农民首创参与的积极作用,提高农民人力资本素质等层面出发重塑定西农民脱贫的新路径。

Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice: Examining the Unique Mental Health Needs of Girls

This study investigated the prevalence of mental health problems among girls who are involved in child welfare or juvenile justice systems. The sample consisted of 1,193 girls ranging in age from 4 to 18, the majority (82.3%, n = 982) of which were older than age 12. Differences based on race/ethnicity and developmental age groups were examined. Consistent with other research, this study found that the mental health needs of girls involved in the child welfare or juvenile justice systems are several times higher than in the general population. Intervention approaches must be developed that take into consideration differences in gender, age, and racial and ethnic group.     

任务型语言教学在大学英语教学实施中的困境和反思

任务型教学作为众多交际教学途径中的一种教学方法，但在理论引进中吸收多，实践中消化改造少，对任务型教学不同形态的研究缺乏必要的整合。主要问题是：教学环境不利于采用任务教学；教师培训的欠缺不利于全面开展任务型教学；教材的开发跟不上教学的需要。因此，有必要对任务型语言教学本土化进行研究和探讨，以更好地适应中国的大学英语教学实际。

Sibling Roles in the Lives of Older Group Home Residents with Intellectual Disability: Working with Staff to Safeguard Wellbeing

Abstract

When parents die, siblings of older people with intellectual disability are likely to take responsibility for oversight of their wellbeing and negotiation with formal support services. This study explored the roles siblings played in the lives of older people with intellectual disability who live in group homes, and the relationships between residents’ siblings and group home staff. The siblings of 13 group home residents and the 17 supervisory staff associated with these services were interviewed, initially face-to-face and then intermittently by phone over a period of three years. Data were analysed using an inductive analytical approach. Siblings valued the relationship with their brother or sister with intellectual disability and played a significant role in safeguarding their wellbeing. Sibling–staff relationships fluctuated over time, sometimes becoming tense and difficult. Few protocols guided these relationships. A principle-based framework could facilitate negotiation between staff and siblings about expectations of communication and decision making.
