中国FDI进入模式的影响因素

本文综合交易费用理论和谈判力量理论分析框架,探讨了FDI进入中国市场模式(合资／独资)的影响因素。应用两分Logit模型进行实证分析,结果显示区位因素、来源地因素、投资项目的经营期限以及投资规模都对FDI进入中国市场模式产生了重要的影响,而产业因素的影响则统计不显著。

俄罗斯、波兰固定资产投资统计制度和固定资本形成总额核算方法研究

本文从理论和实践的角度出发,深入研究了俄罗斯和波兰固定资产投资的统计原则、统计方法、统计范围和统计信息发布等内容,认真梳理了两国固定资本形成总额核算的标准、原则和方法。借鉴两国经验,对我国开展固定资产投资统计制度方法改革的原则和方法提出了意见和建议。     

Risk minimization for an insurer with investment and reinsurance via g-expectation

Abstract

This paper is devoted to the study of a risk-based optimal investment and proportional reinsurance problem. The surplus process of the insurer and the risky asset process in the financial market are assumed to be general jump-diffusion processes. We use a convex risk measure generated by g-expectation to describe the risk of the terminal wealth with investment and reinsurance. Under the aim of minimizing the risk, the problem is solved by using techniques of stochastic maximum principles. Two interesting special cases are studied and the explicit expressions for optimal strategies and corresponding minimal risks are derived.     

投资率门限特征、消费促进与经济增长：1995-2007

 目前,国际经济形势欠佳,出口市场严峻,拉动内需成为我国经济工作重点,投资与消费的关系再次受到学界关注。本文阐述了投资率和消费率协调统一的关系,并运用1995-2007年中国省区面板数据,根据投资率的门限特征进行非线性回归。分析结果表明,投资率主要存在两个门限值,第一个门限值位于44%,在该值以下,消费率的提高显著促进了经济增长;第二个门限值为36%左右,在该值以下,消费率的提高进一步拉动经济增长速度。然而,单纯依靠消费需求拉动将导致投资不足的“陷阱”,为此,本文提出了两项政策建议：挖掘可极大拉动第二产业增长的新消费点;在东部和中西部之间实现有所差异的战略布局。     

我国消费、投资、净出口与经济增长

 消费、投资与出口通常并称为拉动经济增长的三驾马车,对经济增长产生重要作用。同时,经济增长也影响着它们的规模。针对这种情况,本文通过建立联立方程模型以及脉冲响应函数,对我国经济1978-2006年的历史数据进行实证分析,揭示我国改革开放以来它们之间的关系。     

The coevolution of trade agreements and investment treaties: Some evidence from network analysis

Regional trade agreements (RTAs) and bilateral investment treaties (BITs) are expected to promote trade and investment relationships. One critical feature of such agreements is the network, so the multiplex coevolution of RTAs and BITs should be captured by the dynamics of their two networks. Although many studies have examined the roles of RTAs and BITs, most studies do not account for crucial network properties. This study explores how RTAs and BITs coevolve by applying a stochastic actor-oriented model of multiplex network evolution. In particular, we examine the roles of (i) cross-network dyadic interinfluences and (ii) within- and cross-network preferential attachments to discuss the dynamic relationships between RTAs and BITs. The results are as follows. First, our estimation supports cross-network dyadic interinfluences. Countries that sign a BIT are willing to establish an RTA, while those that sign an RTA are reluctant to establish a BIT. Second, concerning preferential attachments, countries prefer to sign BITs with partners that have more RTA and BIT links. However, countries tend to form RTAs with partners that have more BIT links but are reluctant to form RTAs with those that have more RTA links. We discuss possible justifications for these results, including arguments regarding the benefits and costs associated with the formation of RTAs and BITs.     

Professional discretion and length of work experience: what findings from focus groups with care managers in elder care suggest

ABSTRACT

Research has explored how care managers in elder care – who often function as ‘street-level bureaucrats’ – regard professional discretion. The way in which length of work experience affects care managers’ use of professional discretion remains, however, unexplored. This article present findings from 12 focus groups with 60 care managers. By bringing attention to how care managers experience the needs assessment process, this article sheds light on how these ‘street-level bureaucrats’ struggle when they try to balance their clients’ needs against institutional frameworks and local guidelines. Length of work experience seems to play a role in how care managers claim to use professional discretion. Experienced care managers describe how they deviate from the guidelines at times in order to create an increased scope of action in their decision-making process. Those with less time in the profession describe greater difficulties in this respect. Findings suggest that research should explore if length of work experience plays a role in the actual way in which care managers assess needs and make decisions. As such, they contribute to our understanding of how needs assessment processes are navigated by professionals while also pointing towards the nature of professional discretion in gerontological social work.

Reconsidering the philanthropic foundation minimum payout policy under a “new normal”

With the increasing salience of foundations in many policy fields, and recent changes in market conditions, policies towards foundations designed decades ago seem outdated. In this article we suggest reassessing foundation payout minimums. To examine the impact of payout rates on grantmaking foundations lifespan and performance under “new normal” economics, we simulate multiple foundations lifecycles using Monte Carlo methods in diverse capital market conditions, with varied investment and payout strategies.We find that while under past market regime perpetuity seems to be a given, under more probable future scenarios, foundations might face increasingly early mortality and endowment depletion, limiting their potential impact. Furthermore, lower payout rates allow for higher lifetime grantmaking, higher mean annual grantmaking, and lower giving volatility. Accordingly, we suggest a tiered payout policy, in line with foundations’ missions and proper financial planning.
