本文简要介绍了 CI战略和 CS战略的内涵 ,剖析了两者之间的关系 ,指出了 CI战略的不足之处 ,重点论述了 CS战略是 CI战略的深化和超越 ,提倡广泛采用 CS战略 ,使企业在中国加入 WTO之后具有强劲的竞争力。     

1996-2005年福建省出口商品比较优势的实证分析

采用显示比较优势指数RCA、贸易竞争优势指数TC和M ichaely指数MI等3个比较优势评价指标,根据联合国的标准国际贸易分类SITC,研究福建省1996-2005年出口商品的比较优势。对各类商品的3个指标的变化趋势及其原因进行综合分析,结果显示:福建省出口商品的比较优势主要在劳动密集型产品,即SITC6和8类产品;资源密集型产品中除了SITC0中的一些农产品和水产品具有比较优势外,其余SITC2、3、4类产品均处于比较劣势;资本、技术密集型产品中SITC7类产品已从比较劣势逐渐转变成比较优势,不过在福建的生产环节仍属于劳动密集的最终加工装配环节,而SITC5类化工产品长期处于比较劣势,没有任何好转趋势。

An expectational view of consumer spending prospects

While the path of the economy clearly depends on a lot more than the behavior of consumers, the latter is surely one of the key influences on the former. After all, consumer spending counts for about two-thirds of the total (more if consumer investments in owner-occupied housing are included), and postwar business cycle movements in the U.S. have typically been foreshadowed by significant changes in consumer spending, particularly for automobiles and houses. Thus, whether the economy will be proceeding along at reasonably satisfactory growth rates, sliding into recession, or accelerating into renewed expansion will be heavily influenced by what consumers do.     

A response to the BPA evaluation plan: Some modest but utilitarian considerations

In response to the complex and expensive Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) evaluation plan, this article attempts to identify some pragmatic issues and alternative approaches to conservation program evaluation. In particular, the need for simpler, lower-cost evaluation options and the importance of process evaluation to program management are emphasised. This is followed by the delineation of several key principles to be observed in conducting a more modest, but still methodologically sound and managerially useful, evaluation of energy conservation programs.     

Input-output technologies and the effects of tariff reductions

Using input-output (IO) tables from several developed countries (United States, EEC, and Japan) and one developing country (Brazil), we calculate the effects of tariff removal using various combinations of these tables to represent technologies for the countries included in the Michigan Computational Model of World Production and Trade. Among the IO tables, Brazil's reflected unusually high shares of value added, low labor shares, and small supply elasticities. Supply elasticities for the developed countries were somewhat lower than for the United States. Using the Michigan model, our calculated effects of tariff reductions are overstated using the U.S. IO table to represent technologies for other developed countries. Further, for developing countries that use import licensing, the model shows considerable sensitivity to IO table specification. It is especially important, therefore, for computational purposes to obtain the most accurate information possible about IO structures of developing countries.
