西方价值判断现代模式的成因中中国文化因素之考察

17至19世纪,是西方人的价值观发生新旧交替的时期,其结果形成了价值判断的现代模式。在此过程中,中国文化被当作西方文化的参照系,它既参与了这一新的价值判断模式的形成,又成为这一模式的一个主要判断对象。这一跨文化的互动过程既比较全面地解释了西方价值判断模式转换的原因,也解释了中国文化在西方所遭遇的变化的原因。     

落后国家现代化问题的当代反思

马克思主义理论家和西方学者都对落后国家的现代化问题进行过专门的理论研究,形成了两种不同的现代化理论。对这两种理论进行反思,不但能让人们正确理解两种现代化理论的实质,而且能启发人们在全球化背景下和金融危机时期如何把握自身现代化的发展方向。     

A backward construction and simulation of correlated Poisson processes

In this paper, we consider a generalisation of the backward simulation method of Duch et al. [New approaches to operational risk modeling. IBM J Res Develop. 2014;58:1–9] to build bivariate Poisson processes with flexible time correlation structures, and to simulate the arrival times of the processes. The proposed backward construction approach uses the Marshall–Olkin bivariate binomial distribution for the conditional law and some well-known families of bivariate copulas for the joint success probability in lieu of the typical conditional independence assumption. The resulting bivariate Poisson process can exhibit various time correlation structures which are commonly observed in real data.     

"Chain pooling" model selection for two-level fixed effects factorial experiments

As many as three iterated statistical model deletion procedures are considered for an experiment.Population model coeff cients were chosen to simulate a saturated 2⁴experiment having an unfavorable distribution of parameter values.Using random number studies, three model selection strategies were developed, namely, (1) a strategy to be used in anticipation of large coefficients of variation (neighborhood of 65 percent), (2) strategy to be used in anticipation of small coefficients of variation (4 percent or less), and (3) a security regret strategy to be used in the absence of such prior knowledge

Which Domestic Firms Benefit from FDI? Evidence from Selected African Countries

The existing literature on the effects of FDI inflows on domestic firms' performance offers ambiguous evidence. Macro‐level studies suggest that the characteristics of inward FDI and the ‘absorptive capacity’ of the host economy matter in determining the sign (or the mere existence) of these effects. Studies based on micro‐level data have so far mostly focused on finding a nexus between FDI inflows and the productivity of domestic firms, suggesting that the effects might be highly heterogeneous. This article, using a recent firm‐level survey conducted by UNIDO in 19 sub‐Saharan African countries, explores the channels through which multinational enterprises may exert an impact on local firms: products’ market, input availability and costs, access to finance and export opportunities, and analyses the strategic reactions of domestic firms induced by the presence of foreign affiliates.     

Detecting structural breaks in multivariate financial time series: evidence from hedge fund investment strategies

This paper extends the class of asset-based style factor models with multiple structural breaks to the multivariate setting. We propose a model that allows for the presence of common breaks in a system of factor models for individual hedge fund investment strategies, which share common investment characteristics. We develop a Bayesian approach to inference for the unknown number and positions of the structural breaks, based on a set of filtering recursions similar to those of the forward–backward algorithm. Furthermore, we identify relevant risk factors, common among the series of hedge funds, using a Bayesian model comparison approach. We apply our method to a set of correlated hedge fund strategies, which are mainly characterized by equity related bets. Multiple common breaks are identified, consistent with well-known market events, which reveal evidence for structural changes in the risk exposures as well as in the correlation structure of the analysed series.

虽然亚洲落后国家的生存与发展面临许多困难,但它们可以通过增强自身的经济、政治实力改变在世界格局中的地位.解决难题,迎头赶上是顺应历史潮流的正确抉择.因此落后国家要借鉴包括资本主义在内的全人类所取得的成功经验,并在此基础上探索出适合本国国情的发展道路,采取一系列加强经济、政治实力的措施,创造繁荣的政治文明、物质文明,最终摆脱落后状态.
