Adaptive tests of regression functions via multiscale generalized likelihood ratios

Many applications of nonparametric tests based on curve estimation involve selecting a smoothing parameter. The author proposes an adaptive test that combines several generalized likelihood ratio tests in order to get power performance nearly equal to whichever of the component tests is best. She derives the asymptotic joint distribution of the component tests and that of the proposed test under the null hypothesis. She also develops a simple method of selecting the smoothing parameters for the proposed test and presents two approximate methods for obtaining its P‐value. Finally, she evaluates the proposed test through simulations and illustrates its application to a set of real data.

Infill asymptotics for adaptive kernel estimators of spatial intensity

We apply the Abramson principle to define adaptive kernel estimators for the intensity function of a spatial point process. We derive asymptotic expansions for the bias and variance under the regime that n independent copies of a simple point process in Euclidean space are superposed. The method is illustrated by means of a simple example and applied to tornado data.     

Statistical estimation of internal available bandwidth

This paper presents a method for using end-to-end available bandwidth measurements in order to estimate available bandwidth on individual internal links. The basic approach is to use a power transform on the observed end-to-end measurements, model the result as a mixture of spatially correlated exponential random variables, carryout estimation by moment methods, then transform back to the original variables to get estimates and confidence intervals for the expected available bandwidth on each link. Because spatial dependence leads to certain parameter confounding, only upper bounds can be found reliably. Simulations with ns2 show that the method can work well and that the assumptions are approximately valid in the examples.     

On Modeling Wood Formation Using Parametric and Semiparametric Regressions for Count Data

Understanding how wood develops has become an important problematic of plant sciences. However, studying wood formation requires the acquisition of count data difficult to interpret. Here, the annual wood formation dynamics of a conifer tree species were modeled using generalized linear and additive models (GLM and GAM); GAM for location, scale, and shape (GAMLSS); a discrete semiparametric kernel regression for count data. The performance of models is evaluated using bootstrap methods. GLM was useful to describe the wood formation general pattern but had a lack of fitting, while GAM, GAMLSS, and kernel regression had a higher sensibility to short-term variations.

远海岛礁冷链物流体系优化模型及其集成算法

为研究远海岛礁渔获冷链物流的运行方案,本文选择了岛礁冷库储存中转和海上直接收购等两种不同的渔获运输方式,同时考虑了中转冷库选址、中转运输和直接收购船舶配备、航线配置、在渔场停留时间和渔获运输损耗等诸多复杂问题,构建了远海冷链物流体系组合优化模型。求解时,提出了一种以遗传算法（GA）为外部框架,以改进的模拟植物生长算法（PGSA）为内部模块,通过信息传递实现内外连接交互的集成算法。最后,以我国南海远海岛礁及渔场为实例进行分析,取得了较好效果。通过与传统遗传算法对比,本文优化结果、稳定性及计算速度等均有明显提高,从而证明了本文所建模型与算法的合理性和有效性。

中国改革开放的新时期,先后处于世界＂冷战＂、＂后冷战＂时代。中国审时度势,锐意改革进取,既为世界冷战的终结作出了历史性的贡献,同时也发展壮大国力,摒弃了旧有的＂中国模式＂理论话语。中国式改革使自己摆脱了苏东剧变引发的＂多米诺骨牌效应＂,由此也兴起了有关＂中国模式＂的初步探讨。尽管在＂后冷战＂时代,西方国家＂冷战思维＂阴魂不散,＂中国模式＂论的兴起仍凸显世界融解的信息。其与中国威胁论的交错杂糅,又凸显了国际背景的复杂艰辛。有鉴于此,中国学者有关＂中国模式＂的探讨更应注重与海外的学术博弈。
