但丁的声誉与但丁政治理念在欧洲的命运

梳理了14世纪至19世纪后半叶但丁政治理念在欧洲的境遇及其与但丁诗人声誉的联系。除“俗语问题”外,但丁在《帝制论》中提出的政教分离的政治理念是他最初遭到反对的最重要原因,虽然在15世纪~16世纪欧洲文艺复兴与宗教改革运动中但丁的理论曾引起人们的注意,但17世纪~18世纪人们对但丁的低俗化误读使他的诗人声誉仍然下滑。但丁的声誉随着意大利民族意识的觉醒与呼唤民族解放的欧洲浪漫主义运动而不断走向辉煌,这一转折点就是意大利历史哲学家维柯。     

“Still Looking for My Jonathan”: Gay Black Men's Management of Religious and Sexual Identity Conflicts

This article looks at homosexual Black men who are heavily involved in fundamentalist African-American churches. These men describe themselves as “out as same-sex loving individuals” even though the messages preached by their church leaders and the doctrines of their churches are, at the very least, heterosexist, but more likely to be stridently anti-homosexuality. Not only do these men attend the churches they are parts of, but they are viewed as leaders in these churches in positions ranging from associate pastor to director of facilities management. The study uses structured interviews to understand how these men manage the conflict between a committed gay identity and a strong religious identity that says the two cannot coexist.     

俄国政教关系的历史嬗变

政教关系即指国家政权同教会之间的关系。俄罗斯从拜占庭接受基督教以后,基督教作为一种文化现象一直伴随着整个俄罗斯社会历史发展的进程。教权与皇权之间的关系在不同时期也经历着不同的变化,政教关系的问题一直是国家与教会所关心的问题,但总体上保持着政教合一的局面。由于俄国的地缘政治,必然要求内部思想的高度统一,要求政教合一的一元化政治,但它对东正教自身的发展有着消极的影响。     

向边疆布道:中华国内布道会史初探

中华国内布道会源于1918年8月中外基督徒在庐山举行的一次灵修会,七位著名华人信徒提议向云南宣教,先于1919年4月成立"中华国内布道会云南之部",后于1920年7月改称"中华国内布道会"。该会先后在云南、黑龙江、蒙古、四川会理开辟教区。该会开启了华人信徒边疆布道的先河,也是当时本色教会运动的一部分,女基督徒在其中扮演了很重要的角色。     

Collaborative Responses to the Demands of Emerging Human Needs

Abstract

The paper explores the disintegration and integration which exist between faith and religion and social work and learning. There is a brief explanation of Catholic Papal Teachings and Catholic Social Teaching as a demonstration of de facto concordance between social work and religion. The paper contains citations based on the current social principles of the Catholic Church, several recent papal exhortations and encyclicals. These readings highlight the need for good social work practice. The paper ends with some practical suggestions in ways to promote collaboration between the two fields of endeavor.     

Regional Religions?: Extending the “Semi-involuntary” Thesis of African-American Religious Participation

This research examines religious affiliation and church attendance among African-Americans in three different regions of the United States to evaluate the thesis that the Black church represents a semi-involuntary institution shaped by historical dynamics of segregation in the rural South. We extend the analyses of others who have found the rural South to have distinctive church participation patterns by examining two nationally representative data sets (the 1972–1996 General Social Surveys and the 1984 National Alcohol Study). We explore both level and type of church attendance of African-Americans, and how patterns differ by region. Further, we refine prior analyses by (1) differentiating between members of historically White and conservative churches from those in the black mainline, (2) examining racial segregation, and (3) focusing on the type of church attendance (rather than just overall level). Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) and logistic regression models support the thesis that the rural South exhibits some distinctive patterns that make the semi-involuntary institution notion a useful concept, although patterns not predicted by the thesis are also found. The semi-involuntary thesis is also used to illuminate some church attendance patterns observed outside the rural South.

"政教分离"被许多人视为美国宪法基本原则.由于种种原因,它在20世纪又一次成为公众激烈争论的焦点.如果从政治哲学的角度看,"政教分离"的核心是价值中立,而这并不是美国立宪者的主要关注点.但是现代以来,它确实已日益上升为政治哲学的一个重要原则.它的形成不是一个统一的自由主义理念的展开,毋宁说存在着许多不同的原因,其中既有来自世俗自由主义的,也有来自宗教本身的,甚至还有相当"反自由主义"的.故而,"政教分离"可以视为是政治哲学中常常有的复杂的"交叉共识"的一个典例.     

Carry on Shrinking?: The Bankruptcy of Urban Policy in Detroit

Much attention has recently been focused on the bankruptcy of the City of Detroit in 2013 and the reasons for the largest municipal fiscal melt down in US history. Contrary to a view gaining currency, which dismisses Detroit as the product of exceptional forces and largely calls it the architect of its own collapse, this article argues the case that Detroit conveys more general lessons for European cities struggling with decline, not least of which is the need for interventionist regional planning to avoid predictable but avoidable urban distress. The article briefly reviews the well-documented decline of the city of Detroit measured against population, economic, fiscal and image impacts. It considers five current misreadings of the reasons for Detroit's predicament and implicit signposts for European practice before concluding with an assessment of what has been hailed as the shoots of yet another possible renaissance in the originally proclaimed Renaissance City over 40 years ago.     

清政府与义和团运动——以“持平办理”方针为中心

为处理“教案” ,清政府很早就提出了“持平办理”的方针 ,但在不平等条约的束缚下 ,处于弱势地位并只图苟安的清政府根本不可能做到“持平办理”。从清政府制定“持平办理”方针到执行不力以致失败 ,从另行出台“区分匪会”政策到降谕召募拳众 ,反映出民教交涉案件之所以逐渐发展为义和团运动 ,完全是一个规律性演进的历史过程。
