全球化背景下消费者自我建构对国产与外国品牌评价的影响——产品类别的调节作用

自我建构是不同文化背景下个体对自我与他人关系的认知。全球化背景下,受中西双重文化影响,中国消费者的自我建构呈现新的特征。文章通过2×2×2的实验设计检验了消费者自我建构对国产与外国品牌评价的影响,发现不同自我建构者对品牌来源地信息的认知和处理不同,受到产品类别的调节。研究结论为全球化背景下的品牌管理提供了新的指引。     

The Guijin Therapist and the Nature of Therapeutic Truth: A Relational Perspective

The professional literature is replete with examples of the benefits of the client–clinician dyad being of the same ethnic group. Noted advantages include a perceived implicit understanding of the clients subjective experience and a furthering of the therapists personal and professional growth as a result of the therapeutic interaction. This paper suggests that there are also benefits to the clinician being considered a guijin or outsider to the clients culture of origin. Utilizing a relational perspective with an emphasis on multiple self-state theory, this paper will discuss the advantages of being perceived as an outsider when working with an Asian bicultural client.An earlier version of this paper was presented at the Annual International Conference for the Advancement of Private Practice in Clinical Social Work in Lisbon, Portugal on June 8, 2002.     

THE POLITICS OF MOTHERING IN A “MIXED” FAMILY: AN AUTOETHNOGRAPHIC EXPLORATION

Interweaving excerpts from her personal journal with research and literature about mixed race, interfaith, and bicultural experience, Nora Lester Murad uses autoethnographic methods to explore the experience of mothering in an American–Jewish and Palestinian–Muslim family. She pushes theoretical discussion beyond the experiences of “mixed” people to consider how the identity of otherwise monoracial/ monocultural parents may be transformed through the experience of parenting across socially/politically significant differences, particularly, national origin, culture, and faith. She also extends theoretical discussion beyond the confines of identity to consider parenting as a political process with an impact within and beyond families.     

Navigating Identities: Subtle and Public Agency of Bicultural Gay Youth

Young people who discover their sexual attraction to people of the same sex often go through a period of ambivalence or distress, especially when they grow up in an environment that condemns homosexuality. The Dutch sociopolitical context makes the expression of same-sex desires among those with non-Dutch roots even more complicated and risky, as prevailing schemes of interpretation render the two identities incompatible. This study explores the expressions of same-sex desires and identities as well as the different forms of agency of bicultural gay youth. In-depth interviews with 14 young adults reveal how young people negotiate bicultural identities in Dutch society that brings to the fore complexities in managing diverse sexual identities and strong religious and cultural affiliations in tandem. Their strategies have the effect of questioning dominant discourses and transcend the oppositional dichotomy between sexual and ethnic forms of sociocultural otherness.

汉语词汇中的新族群——字母词广泛地用于人们的现实生活中。字母词的大量涌现不仅为现代汉语词汇研究开辟了新的研究视域,同时其自身的构词特点和独有的双语双文化性为英语教学提出了一新的课题。在外语教学中,词汇教学始终占据着较大的比重,字母词无疑也是词汇教学中不可或缺的一个重要部分。本文从英语教学角度探讨了字母词在英语教学中的必要性及两者间的联系。

解读辛格的《卢布林的魔术师》和《童爱》两部小说,分析犹太格托和格托精神,认为美国犹太小说是对犹太文化的反衬,折射出犹太文化进入美国社会,是对美国本土文化的融合,并在碰撞中得到了发展和升华。     

Mate Selection and Marriage Decision in Bicultural Society: Modern Orthodox Society in Israel

This article addresses courtship and mate selection patterns of young adults who belong to two parallel cultures: traditional and modern. In-depth interviews with 36 Modern-Orthodox Jewish men and women during their first year of marriage reveal unique considerations for mate selection and the dynamic flow between cultural systems. The findings show that dating is marriage-oriented but within a modern context. Although the study participants used modern tools and concepts, the marriage decision itself was bound to strict social norms and traditional expectations. The decision was based largely on rational reasoning, whereas love and personal needs were rarely discussed. The findings highlight the challenges faced by couples with bicultural identity in their transition to matrimony and can support professionals in addressing these conflicts.     

The Symmetry and Asymmetry of Cultures: A Point of Departure for Bicultural Psychotherapy

The we-self and I-self relationships of the Asian and Western cultures, respectively, are examined from the perspectives of two creation myths, asymmetrical and symmetrical modes of thought, and an example of bicultural therapy.

文章通过对《到美国去!到美国去!》这部小说主人公伍珍为实现“美国梦”在美国奋斗经历的分析,展现了中国移民在美国努力适应环境、在中美两种文化碰撞的夹缝中求生存的境况,着重表现了在美华人在两种文化、两个世界之中的困惑、无奈与挣扎,以及少数族裔在美国主流社会漫长的文化兼容与互补中所经受的艰辛历程。     

Views on Parent–Child Connectedness Among English- and Spanish-Speaking Parents of High-Risk Youth

This study highlights findings from focus groups on parent–child connectedness conducted with English- and Spanish-speaking parents of high-risk youth in the southern United States. The primary aim of the study was to extend research on parent–child connectedness, a broad protective factor for adolescent risk behavior. In addition to describing strategies and obstacles for enhancing closeness between parents and children, parents in Spanish-speaking focus groups also raised issues related to immigration, acculturation, and bicultural stress. Findings provide valuable insights for practitioners and policymakers seeking to improve parent–child connectedness and reduce adolescent risk behavior, with special insight about Mexican-origin, Spanish-speaking families.
