«Il n'y a pas d’avenir dans ce métier.» Être chauffeur de VTC en Afrique par temps de pandémie

Si les plateformes ont donné du travail à beaucoup d’Africains, les emplois créés sont de mauvaise qualité, comme la pandémie l'a bien montré. Dans ce contexte, les auteurs examinent la situation particulière des chauffeurs VTC en Afrique en s'appuyant sur des entretiens approfondis, réalisés au Kenya, et sur les méthodes de l'ethnographie virtuelle. Ils montrent que ces travailleurs ont recours à un «régime de débrouille», associant résilience, réajustement et résistance. Pour améliorer les conditions de travail et lutter contre la précarité dans le secteur, il faut à la fois que les pouvoirs publics instaurent des cadres réglementaires et que les travailleurs se mobilisent collectivement.

The bad-news-dialogue. Adequate communication in view of hopelessnessFrom the refusal of a request for advanced training up to the dismissal without notice thousands of bad messages are to be delivered in the professional context every day. In the most cases superiors are responsible for it. Many persons concerned seize on inadequate means of communication for reasons of self protection and helplessness. The presented four-phase model defines clarity and bearableness as most important dialogue goals and brings them with one another in agreement. Special attention obtains the behaviour of the employee immediately after the bad-news-dialogue.     

Une communauté indienne face au travail : les nisads du Gange

This article explores a working community in the northern India, specifically fishermen, boatmen and boatbuilders of the middle course of the river Ganges. It seeks to show that, on the one hand, conceptions of work and, on the other hand, the realities of different tasks, constitute a complex nexus, marked by nuances and change. Community factors (work in general but also caste and religion) strongly influence perceptions of the working world. While the universe of the Ganges fishermen is strongly marked by poverty and a heavy burden of toil, it is also noteworthy for its aesthetic, playful and rebellious elements. And finally, the conceptions and realities of work are highly gendered, leading to the existence of two paradigms of the task.     

Adaptive exponentielle glättung erster ordnung

In the paper we introduce an adaptive procedure of the first order exponential smoothing. In this procedure we get a sequence of estimation converging in mean square to the unknown smoothing parameter and an asymptotically optimum prediction in the sense of the least square error. In case of breaks in the structure of time series we recommend a modification of the procedure.

The benefit of staff appraisal interviews in an organization of social work In a great organization of social work (the catholic Caritas in Frankfurt/M.) since 2000 annual staff appraisal interviews are established. The author explains the concept and the contents of the questionnaire. The benefit of these dialogues to the participants as well as to the organization is discussed. A ?Coaching seminar“ has to prepare the staff members, in order to optimize the benefit of the appraisal interview.     

Les plateformes de travail numérique et l‘évolution de la main-d‘œuvre en ligne en Fédération de Russie: une analyse sur dix ans

Les auteurs décrivent l'évolution du marché du travail indépendant en ligne en Fédération de Russie et dans l'espace postsoviétique. Les données proviennent d'une enquête originale, adressée à quatre reprises, entre 2009 et 2019, aux utilisateurs d'une grande plateforme d'intermédiation en langue russe, axée sur les métiers créatifs et l'économie du savoir. Plusieurs tendances se dégagent: expansion de l'aire de recrutement; diversification des spécialisations; féminisation, vieillissement et qualification de la main-d'œuvre; péjoration de l'adéquation profil-tâches; consolidation des parcours indépendants en ligne, plateformisation et formalisation. Les auteurs commentent ces évolutions et formulent des recommandations d'action en vue du développement futur du secteur en Fédération de Russie.
