We propose an approach to determine the distribution of particular linear combinations of hybrid censored order statistics which is based on the calculation of volumes of polytopes. For this purpose, we establish efficient and compact volume formulas in terms of B-splines. Based on B-spline basis functions and smoothly clipped absolute deviation (SCAD) penalty, we present a new estimation and variable selection procedure based on modal regression for partially linear additive models. The outstanding merit of the new method is that it is robust against outliers or heavy-tail error distributions and performs no worse than the least-square-based estimation for normal error case. The main difference is that the standard quadratic loss is replaced by a kernel function depending on a bandwidth that can be automatically selected based on the observed data. With appropriate selection of the regularization parameters, the new method possesses the consistency in variable selection and oracle property in estimation. Finally, both simulation study and real data analysis are performed to examine the performance of our approach.  相似文献

In some applications of statistical quality control, quality of a process or a product is best characterized by a functional relationship between a response variable and one or more explanatory variables. This relationship is referred to as a profile. In certain cases, the quality of a process or a product is better described by a non-linear profile which does not follow a specific parametric model. In these circumstances, nonparametric approaches with greater flexibility in modeling the complicated profiles are adopted. In this research, the spline smoothing method is used to model a complicated non-linear profile and the Hotelling T2 control chart based on the spline coefficients is used to monitor the process. After receiving an out-of-control signal, a maximum likelihood estimator is employed for change point estimation. The simulation studies, which include both global and local shifts, provide appropriate evaluation of the performance of the proposed estimation and monitoring procedure. The results indicate that the proposed method detects large global shifts while it is very sensitive in detecting local shifts.  相似文献

By approximating the nonparametric component using a regression spline in generalized partial linear models (GPLM), robust generalized estimating equations (GEE), involving bounded score function and leverage-based weighting function, can be used to estimate the regression parameters in GPLM robustly for longitudinal data or clustered data. In this paper, score test statistics are proposed for testing the regression parameters with robustness, and their asymptotic distributions under the null hypothesis and a class of local alternative hypotheses are studied. The proposed score tests reply on the estimation of a smaller model without the testing parameters involved, and perform well in the simulation studies and real data analysis conducted in this paper.  相似文献

在实际数据分析中经常会遇到零膨胀计数数据作为响应变量与函数型随机变量和随机向量作为预测变量相关联。本文考虑函数型部分变系数零膨胀模型 (FPVCZIM),模型中无穷维的斜率函数用函数型主成分基逼近,系数函数用B-样条进行拟合。通过EM 算法得到估计量,讨论其理论性质,在一些正则条件下获得了斜率函数和系数函数估计量的收敛速度。有限样本的Monte Carlo 模拟研究和真实数据分析被用来解释本文提出的方法。  相似文献

Ordinary differential equations (ODEs) are normally used to model dynamic processes in applied sciences such as biology, engineering, physics, and many other areas. In these models, the parameters are usually unknown, and thus they are often specified artificially or empirically. Alternatively, a feasible method is to estimate the parameters based on observed data. In this study, we propose a Bayesian penalized B-spline approach to estimate the parameters and initial values for ODEs used in epidemiology. We evaluated the efficiency of the proposed method based on simulations using the Markov chain Monte Carlo algorithm for the Kermack–McKendrick model. The proposed approach is also illustrated based on a real application to the transmission dynamics of hepatitis C virus in mainland China.  相似文献
