In this paper, a comparison between the life distribution of a new unit with that of a used unit in the increasing convex order is made leading to a new class of life distributions which we call “new better than used in convex ordering of second order”. This class includes as subclasses the NBU and the NBUC and is a subclass of the NBUCA class. Preservation properties under convolution, random maxima, mixing and formation of coherent structures are established. Stochastic comparisons of the excess lifetime when the inter-arrival times belong to the NBUC(2) class are developed. Some applications of Poisson shock models and a test of exponentiality against NBUC(2) alternative are presented.  相似文献

In this paper, reversed preservation properties of right spread order, total time on test order and increasing convex (concave) order when taking random minima and maxima are developed. In this context, reversed preservation properties of some ageing concepts are investigated under parallel (series) systems which are composed of a random number of i.i.d. components. Class of life distributions which are new better than used in convex ordering (NBUC) is dealt with. A probabilistic characterization is introduced to measure the degree of NBUC-ness. A nonparametric procedure is also developed to test the exponentiality against the strict NBUC property, therein, the theory of U-statistics and jackknife is utilized to establish the asymptotic normality of the test statistic. Furthermore, Edgeworth expansion and bootstrap are employed to improve the accuracy of the approximation. Some numerical simulations on the power are presented as a demonstration for the proposed procedure.  相似文献
