The plant ‘Heat Rate’ (HR) is a measure of overall efficiency of a thermal power generating system. It depends on a large number of factors, some of which are non-measurable, while data relating to others are seldom available and recorded. However, coal quality (expressed in terms of ‘effective heat value’ (EHV) as kcal/kg) transpires to be one of the important factors that influences HR values and data on EHV are available in any thermal power generating system. In the present work, we propose a prediction interval of the HR values on the basis of only EHV, keeping in mind that coal quality is one of the important (but not the only) factors that have a pronounced effect on the combustion process and hence on HR. The underlying theory borrows the idea of providing simultaneous confidence interval (SCI) to the coefficients of a p-th p(≥1) order autoregressive model (AR(p)). The theory has been substantiated with the help of real life data from a power utility (after suitable base and scale transformation of the data to maintain the confidentiality of the classified document). Scope for formulating strategies to enhance the economy of a thermal power generating system has also been explored.  相似文献

在实现"碳达峰碳中和"目标的重要历史机遇期,推动实现农业集约化、绿色化和资源再生化,构建资源节约型、绿色低碳型、生态循环型的农业发展模式,对于农业可持续发展具有重要意义。以2000-2018年我国31个省份为研究对象,通过面板向量自回归模型(PVAR),刻画资源消耗、农业产出、农业碳排放之间的动态传导机制。结果表明:(1)东部农业"碳达峰"节点出现较早,东北、西部相对较晚;2018年农业碳排放居前三的省份为湖南、黑龙江、河南,居后三的为北京、天津、上海;(2)资源消耗和农业产出之间呈现"低投入高产出"的农业集约化生产模式,但影响力微弱;农业产出和农业碳排放之间"高产出高排放"的情形长期面临农业绿色化的严峻考验;农业碳排放与资源消耗之间呈现"低排放低投入"的资源再生化现象,影响力短期微弱长期较强;(3)推动实现农业集约化、绿色化、资源再生化的关键在于探索降低农业碳排放的多重路径。因此,应强化农业集约化生产,充分发展资源再生化模式,探索形成农业绿色化格局新路径,以此来加快实现碳减排目标,推动农业可持续发展。  相似文献

Monte Carlo methods are used to compare the methods of maximum likelihood and least squares to estimate a cumulative distribution function. When the probabilistic model used is correct or nearly correct, the two methods produce similar results with the MLE usually slightly superior When an incorrect model is used, or when the data is contaminated, the least squares technique often gives substantially superior results.  相似文献

This paper studies the effects of non-normality and autocorrelation on the performances of various individuals control charts for monitoring the process mean and/or variance. The traditional Shewhart X chart and moving range (MR) chart are investigated as well as several types of exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) charts and combinations of control charts involving these EWMA charts. It is shown that the combination of the X and MR charts will not detect small and moderate parameter shifts as fast as combinations involving the EWMA charts, and that the performana of the X and MR charts is very sensitive to the normality assumption. It is also shown that certain combinations of EWMA charts can be designed to be robust to non-normality and very effective at detecting small and moderate shifts in the process mean and/or variance. Although autocorrelation can have a significant effect on the in-control performances of these combinations of EWMA charts, their relative out-of-control performances under independence are generally maintained for low to moderate levels of autocorrelation.  相似文献

Bridge penalized regression has many desirable statistical properties such as unbiasedness, sparseness as well as ‘oracle’. In Bayesian framework, bridge regularized penalty can be implemented based on generalized Gaussian distribution (GGD) prior. In this paper, we incorporate Bayesian bridge-randomized penalty and its adaptive version into the quantile regression (QR) models with autoregressive perturbations to conduct Bayesian penalization estimation. Employing the working likelihood of the asymmetric Laplace distribution (ALD) perturbations, the Bayesian joint hierarchical models are established. Based on the mixture representations of the ALD and generalized Gaussian distribution (GGD) priors of coefficients, the hybrid algorithms based on Gibbs sampler and Metropolis-Hasting sampler are provided to conduct fully Bayesian posterior estimation. Finally, the proposed Bayesian procedures are illustrated by some simulation examples and applied to a real data application of the electricity consumption.  相似文献

We will establish the local asymptotic normality (LAN) for fractional autoregressive long memory model in the case of strong mixing noises. This opens the way in future work to construct an adaptive estimator and construct optimal tests for the parameters. Asymptotics of an alternative extreme-value estimator for the autocorrelation parameter in a first-order bifurcating autoregressive (BAR) process with non-gaussian innovations are derived. This contrasts with traditional estimators whose asymptotic behavior depends on the central part of the innovation distribution. Within any BAR model, the main concern is addressing the complex dependency between generations. The inability of traditional methods to handle this dependency motivated an alternative procedure. With the combination of an extreme-value approach and a clever blocking argument, the dependency issue within the BAR process was resolved, which in turn allowed us to derive the limiting distribution for the proposed estimator through the use of regular variation and non-stationary point processes. Finally, the implications of our extreme-value approach are discussed with an extensive simulation study that not only assesses the reliability of our proposed estimate but also presents the findings for a new estimator of an unknown location parameter θ and its implications.  相似文献

Conditionally autoregressive (CAR) models are often used to analyze a spatial process observed over a lattice or a set of irregular regions. The neighborhoods within a CAR model are generally formed deterministically using the inter-distances or boundaries between the regions. To accommodate directional and inherent anisotropy variation, a new class of spatial models is proposed that adaptively determines neighbors based on a bivariate kernel using the distances and angles between the centroid of the regions. The newly proposed model generalizes the usual CAR model in a sense of accounting for adaptively determined weights. Maximum likelihood estimators are derived and simulation studies are presented for the sampling properties of the estimates on the new model, which is compared to the CAR model. Finally the method is illustrated using a data set on the elevated blood lead levels of children under the age of 72 months observed in Virginia in the year of 2000.  相似文献

This paper considers quantile regression for a wide class of time series models including autoregressive and moving average (ARMA) models with asymmetric generalized autoregressive conditional heteroscedasticity errors. The classical mean‐variance models are reinterpreted as conditional location‐scale models so that the quantile regression method can be naturally geared into the considered models. The consistency and asymptotic normality of the quantile regression estimator is established in location‐scale time series models under mild conditions. In the application of this result to ARMA‐generalized autoregressive conditional heteroscedasticity models, more primitive conditions are deduced to obtain the asymptotic properties. For illustration, a simulation study and a real data analysis are provided.  相似文献
