新媒体艺术的审美新奇--感官的延伸亦或损毁的共通感?

具有历史意义的技术革新不仅决定着现实世界中人与人之间的社会经济、政治关系,同时决定着人类感觉器官和人类自身本体性的改变。正如马克思指出的,技术形象地阐释了人与自然之间的相互作用,同时改变了人类在具体化时被历史性建构和发展的方式。麦克卢汉认为,由技术扩张带来的感官延伸会在所有的感官中产生新的感官比例。他还强调,多感官、多能力的延伸同属于一个经验范畴,因而必须协同一致。针对所谓的新媒体艺术的议题,笔者的目标是在当下后福特主义的情境中检测“解放性的新事物”。如果说,(新)媒体的影响力只能在能够改变人与人之间个体相互作用的方式中进行检验,联系麦克卢汉的相关理论,那么,不用考虑任何新“技术”,艺术解放力即被看作是消解共通感的变革力量。      

基于Web的企业管理CAI系统设计与开发

本文提出了一种基于Web的企业经营管理CAI系统,该系统尽可能真实地模拟了市场经济条件下实际企业竞争与经营管理的内、外部环境,为学习者提供了一个综合应用管理类知识的教育和实战环境。     

深井水平井水平段水力延伸能力评价与分析

对影响水平井水平段延伸能力的因素进行了分析,然后根据钻井液流体力学理论,建立了水平井循环压耗计算模型,分别对水平井总循环压耗和水平段环空压耗进行计算,进而求出了水平井水平段极限延伸长度值;对钻井液密度、钻井泵额定压力、岩屑床高度和钻井液排量对水平段水力延伸能力的影响进行了分析。研究表明,水平段水力延伸能力受钻井液密度、钻井泵额定压力、岩屑床高度和钻井液排量等多个因素共同影响。为了提高深井水平井的延伸能力,应使用较低密度的钻井液;尽量保持较低的岩屑床高度;钻井液排量应尽量小。同时还认识到,深井水平井水力延伸能力主要受到钻井泵额定压力的制约。研发高额定压力的钻井泵,是提高深井水平井水力延伸能力的主要措施。     

移动终端浏览器的设计和实现

介绍了移动终端网络应用的现状及无线应用协议和WWW两种网络编程模式。在分析移动终端硬件平台特点的基础上,提出了一种移动终端浏览器d-MTB,并详细描述其体系结构及主要组成部分,给出了设计实现方法。该设计以嵌入式操作系统为基础,具有灵活性、移植性和可扩展性等特点,并在PDA和智能电话等多种不同软、硬件平台的移动终端中得到了具体应用。     

The union-intersection principle applied to the test of dimensionality

In the first section Anderson-Rao-Fujikoshi's test statistics for testing the hypothesis of dimensionality are reviewed and then Olkin-Tomsky's generalized union-intersection principle is applied to show that a new class of test statistics for testing the hypothesis of dimensionality are derived which includes the likelihood ratio test statistics, the trace test statistics and a version of ROY'S maximum root test statistics.     

Leaning into Browser Extensions

abstract

An array of browser extensions has been developed to help researchers locate full-text content, whether that full text is available in an institutional repository, on a publishers site, or in an open access journal. Examples of such browser extensions include Unpaywall, Kopernio, EZproxy tools, and Lean Library. This Balance Point column focuses on the growth of browser extensions, the need they are filling, and their adoption by libraries. Particular attention is paid to the Lean Library browser extension and the services offered by Lean Library. Drawing on the literature and interviews with librarians in the field, the advantages and disadvantages of browser extensions are addressed, as well as security concerns.     

The role of corporate image and extension similarity in service brand extensions

In this article we examine the role of corporate image in extending service brands to new and traditional markets in the telecommunications sector. With regards to corporate image, service brand extensions are primarily associated with innovation-related attributes, such as order of entry (i.e., pioneers versus followers). Increasingly, firms are extending their services to markets that are beyond the markets that they traditionally have been active in. The results of an experimental study show that consumers evaluate service extensions by providers with an innovative late mover image more favourably that service extensions by companies with a pioneer image in terms of perceived corporate credibility and expected service quality. With regards to these evaluation criteria, it was also found that consumers prefer service brand extensions to related rather than unrelated markets. In addition we find that the relative distance between service providers with an innovative late mover image and pioneers is larger in related markets.

Incomplete probability assessments in decision analysis

Summary In analysing a decision problem, in a situation ofpartial knowledge, a decision maker may be reluctant to assign acomplete probability distribution on the relevant states of nature. In order to face this difficulty, several methods, based onindeterminate probabilities or probabilityintervals, have been proposed in the literature. In this paper, arguing that it is meaningless to judge probabilistic assessments ascorrect orwrong, it is maintained that onlycoherence has anobjective andsignificant role. Then to overcome practical difficulties, an approach based on thesubjective methodology and on the use ofnumerical andqualitative probabilities, is outlined.
