| Abstract: | With the development of modern science, technology and civilization, euphemism is playing an important part in a communicative language. It has witnessed constant changes in the English language. The article makes a study of the emergence, evolution, constituent principles, communicative functions and usage of euphemism in the English language, so as to have a deep understanding of this language phenomenon. |
