哈佛大学校长的办学理念及其影响

摘    要:哈佛大学的发展与历届校长的办学理念密切相关。从第14任校长柯兰克到现任校长博克,始终坚持学术自由、追求真理、追求卓越的办学理念,将哈佛大学办成了世界一流大学。追溯哈佛校长的办学理念,在科研上,以学术自由,追求真理为鹄;在人才培养上,注重课程变革,适应时代变迁,从最初的"自由选课制"到"英才教育",从"普通教育"到"核心课程"的改革,始终坚持以把学生培养成社会精英和领袖为目标。哈佛大学校长的办学理念对于美国研究型大学的发展有着重要的影响,对我国建设世界一流大学具有重要的借鉴意义。

Abstract:The development of Harvard University relates to the successive presidents' ideas of running a school closely.From Kirkland(the 14th president) to Dered Bok(the present president),they have all insisted on the idea of running a school with the content of "pursuing academic freedom,truth,and brilliance",so Harvard has become the world first-class university.Harvard University presidents' ideas of running a school includes: In scientific research,they defend academic freedom and pursue truth;in talents' cultivation,they attach the importance to the curriculum revolution and adapt themselves to the times transformation.In the revolution from the first " free-select-course",to the "gifted education",then to the "general education" and finally to the "core curriculum",they have always adhered to the objective of training students to be social elites and leaders.Harvard University presidents' ideas of running a school have important influence on the development of American research universities and important beneficial meaning for our country to construct the world first-class universities.
