山西票号业务总量之估计

票号亦称票庄、汇票庄或汇兑庄,因其主要由山西商人创办、经营,因此也称山西票号。近十余年来,关于山西票号的研究日益增多,但现有成果主要局限于微观、个案层面,对于整个票号业的经营业务量、资本与利润总量、总资力,以及票号在当时金融业中的地位与影响等宏观问题则较少涉及。该文立足于票号的总分号数量及所能收集到的有关数据,对其发行的汇票总量、存款与放款总量进行了估算,并简单梳理了兑换券的发行情况,进而从一个新的角度探讨了票号衰落之原因。

Estimation of Business Volume of Shanxi Piaohao

Piaohao,also known as PiaoZhuang or Huiduizhuang,is mainly originated and managed by Jin-mer- chants,so it is also called Shanxi Piaohao,In the last few years,the researches on Shanxi Piaohao have been in- creasing day by day,These achievements are limited to the microscopic area of documents,while paying less at- tention to the business volume of management or the sum of the capital and the profit of Shanxi Piaohao,In ad- dition,they don't analyze the status and the influence of the Shanxi Piaohao in the whole finance industry,This article,based on the mass data of the many companies,estimates the sum of the drafts,deposits and loans of Shanxi Piaohao,and combs the issue situation of the bill of exchange,which discusses the reasons for the decline of Shanxi Piaohao from new angle.
