中华女子学院英语专业学生英语隐喻能力及英语水平相关性研究

了解英语专业大学生英语隐喻能力的状况，探索英语隐喻能力与英语水平的关系，一份英语隐喻能力试卷由英语专业大三学生作答，部分学生接受访谈。运用 SPSS 软件分析英语专业学生英语隐喻能力试卷成绩和英语专业四级考试成绩，发现他们的英语隐喻能力与英语水平存在正相关，英语隐喻能力在专业教学中未得到充分培养。专业教师在教学中应合理导入中西方文化，运用隐喻表达培养学生的隐喻识别、理解和构建能力，进而提高其英语水平。

On the Correlation Between Metaphoric English Competence and English Proficiency of English Majors

To determine the current situation of metaphoric English competence of English majors and to explore the relationships between their metaphoric competence and English proficiency, a metaphoric English competence test paper was completed by juniors of the Foreign Languages Department of China Women’s University, and interviews on their metaphoric teaching and learning was carried out with some students. Through SPSS correlation analysis of the scores of their test papers and their TEM4 scores, it was found there was a positive correlation between students’ metaphoric competence and their English proficiency, and English majors’metaphoric competence was at the low level. To educate English majors’in metaphoric competence and to improve their English proficiency, attention should be paid to cultural input and explanation of metaphoric expressions.
