| Abstract: | In order to study transportation modernization and accelerate its process, we should not ignore the issue of transportation pre-modernization.The research made on transportation in our country mostly belongs to macrocosmic research and is somewhat inadequate in terms of microcosmic research. The present paper discusses the issues of transportation pre-modernization in Changzhou,its characteristics and influence in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China with the purpose of making up the research vacancy and provide historic reference for transportation modernization in Changzhou. |
