论多模态话语分析理论视域下的英文影视欣赏课教学

摘    要:多模态指通过一种以上的符号编码实现意义的途径,影视作品是多模态的典型代表,而正是影视作品的多模态性制约了英文影视作品作为语言学习素材的有效性。在多模态话语分析理论视域下,英文影视欣赏课应帮助学生准确解构英文影视作品的文化语境、情景语境和话语意义,帮助学生理解和体会他们独自观看英文电影或电视节目时无法构建的那部分意义。

Abstract:Multimodal refers to the realization of meaning through more than one encoding sym- bols, of which movies and TV series are typical examples. But it is the multimodality of movies and TV series that restricts the effectiveness of them to be employed in language learning. Under the theory of multimodal discourse analysis, it is the goal of the English movie appreciation course to help students construct meaning through cultural context and situational context and gain much more than watching the movies alone.
