唐大历、元和年间摩尼寺选址原因辨析

陈垣先生在《摩尼教入中国考》一文中,根据唐大历六年和元和二年,回鹘两度请求在中原建摩尼寺事,指出唐代中原摩尼教＂先由北而南,复由南而北＂的传布路线。笔者分析中原摩尼寺的设立情况,辨释陈先生这一观点,认为回鹘请求在江南地区建寺多伴随粟特人之商业利益,而在河南,尤其是太原府置寺则更具政治意图。
