和谐社会是体现公平正义的社会，社会公平是和谐社会的重要支柱和基础。维护和实现社会公平，是构建社会主义和谐社会的价值取向和必然要求。在构建社会主义和谐社会过程中，党和政府只有着力构筑以“四个公平”为主要内容的社会公平体系；处理好公平与效率、先富与未富的关系；进一步完善社会保障体系，才能切实维护和实现社会公平，达到社会的和谐。

Promoting Social Fairness to Build a Harmonious Society

A harmonious society is one that manifestates social fairness which is an important pillar and the foundation of a harmonious society. Protecting and realizing social fairness is both an inevitable requirement for and the values of a socialist harmonious society. In the process of building a socialist harmonious society, the Party and the government can effectively protect and achieve social fairness and harmony by building a so- cial fairness system which considers“four kinds of fairness” as its main content ： handling the relationship between fairness and efficiency, the rich and the poor and improving the social security system. Only in this way can we achieve social hamony.
