儒家孝道非隆丧厚葬之源考

隆丧厚葬在中国丧葬史上占据主流,其原因一般认为主要是儒家孝道影响的结果。其实丧葬是社会的一面镜子,它是当时社会风俗奢靡化的反应,并非源自于儒家丧葬孝道伦理。真正的儒家并不提倡厚葬,儒家礼仪反而是历代限制厚葬的主要手段,但由于整个社会的奢侈化,收效甚微。因此,要寻找隆丧厚葬的原因,必须从社会风俗的奢靡化入手,并结合当朝的特性分析之。当然,从社会风俗的整体性观察,它也反映了礼与俗的矛盾运动。
